He had 27 and I don't think he missed a 2pt shot.

He is figuring things out nicely.

I'm happy to finally see him actually take middies vs drop coverage. He was avoiding long twos too much for even my liking

It's hard to say. I think Giddey has flat out been better than him so far, but it's not about drafting the best year one guy. I love Kuminga's twitchy athleticism (Best in class I think), but he lacks the ancillary skills of basketball for me. Not a great rebounder, not a good passer or shooter. But if you squint and have patience you can see a star.

Floor - Jeff Green - Ceiling Jason Richardson/Siakam

With Josh Giddey I love his play making and he can throw some sneaky good passes. He's even a better rebounder than Kuminga. His scoring in general has had it's ups and downs. I think he'll be okay there. It's defense with Josh where I question his ultimate ceiling, but even without the defense if he gets the scoring down, I think he could be a star.
Floor - Rubio - Ceiling - Taller/Slower Nash.

I'm overly confident about this draft class and I don't think OKC regrets a thing.

I agree...I don't think OKC regrets anything.

I just wonder if it's harder to find an athletic wing like Kuminga than it is to find a solid point guard (which SGA can sometimes play).

Yeah the positional overlap between the two isn't optimal. That much is sure. But having two great/elite ball handlers is always a good thing for a team to have. There is a legit argument to be made that the "fit" with Kuminga would be better, but I'm personally not all the way sold on Kuminga as others are. Both are great prospects with high ceilings, it's about what you value more IMO.

The first year SGA was in OKC he played off ball with CP3 and Shroeder. Giddey creates shots for his teammates and SGA likes to take shots. I think they'll be fine together.

I love Cade but you can't win ROY if you're below 50% TS. As much as his shot looks good, it doesn't in and that matters imo.

Ah right thought so. I think Franz also won it once as well (I think it was December?)

Mobley was nowhere near sweeping the award

I can see Cade still getting ROY potentially, but I can definitely see him falling just short. Scottie and Evan look like vets already. Plus Cade needs to develop an NBA bag. His bigbody moves really aren't working in the grownmans league. But honestly, I love him as our franchise cornerstone, and the skys the limit for the kid.

I mean it kinda feels like getting a title in the casual rec league division, rather than playing in the competitive one.

its all good man. he's going to be awesome once he puts it all together. what a rookie class.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

And thank goodness. For years, the West was the stronger division and kept adding stars via the lottery too.

He plays like a vet in his own right. Once the jumper starts falling consistently he will be a serious problem in this league.
