Man these guys could at least try to educate themselves a little. Chuck literally thinks that Victor is playing against HS kids in France. He's trynna argue that Victor isn't a sure bet by saying "Gotta see how he plays against grown men first", "The only player who didn't play in College and dominated from day 1 was LeBron"

Like wtf. This kid is gonna become an MVP of a GROWN MEN's LEAGUE. He is already playing against grown men. He is already playing in "College" so to speak. Wtf is he talking about. He literally has no idea where Wemby plays, how he plays and what he does on a daily basis.
"I don't care what he does in the Czech Republic". Like come on... I know these guys are just getting paid to be entertaining but still

This is the only true thing Chuck said here lol. He truly doesn't care about whats happening in Europe.

Chuck barely cares whats going on with the NBA, thats not why you watch the chuckster.

I agree, thats why it doesnt bother me for takes like this. Enjoy his personality and understand he is getting paid to put out opinions on things he sometimes has no idea about

We don’t prop up the most intelligent well researched people for their opinions. We prop up the guys that entertain us. These are rarely the two same sets of people. It’s why people more likely to listen to a Joe Rogaine podcast about xyz than the preeminent scholars dissertation on xyz. It’s the unfortunate reality of social media that now we’re dumbing down the narrative because the people that get a platform are the ones that have the hottest takes / trigger that caveman reactive response.

I know. When current affairs happen we really want to hear the opinions of coaches, singers, basketball players and tiktok influencers, which is fine I guess, but we absolutely do not want to hear from the academics who have actually spent a lifetime researching the topic
Just human nature... I'm no different personally, and I have to fight myself every time.
Even in basketball, we still collectively entertain the delusion that because someone was a point guard in the NBA it means he must be a good coach, even though it's been proven wrong time and again. It's like singer and song writer, it's very rare that someone is very good at both.

About Rogan specifically, if you look past the martial artists and stand up comedians who are his bread-and-butter guests, he does actually invite a lot of very educated and intelligent people, and it's a real pleasure to hear them try and explain their field in simple language (which they have to if they're gonna have a discussion with Rogan, who kinda represents the average person). I think it's a good thing.

Yah stop the Rogan hate. His podcast is great for humanity. Otherwise his fans would just listen to MMA or comedy podcasts instead of ever hearing a 3 hour interview with the likes of Sam Harris or Brian Cox etc.

a few weeks ago windhorst's pod did a wemby special. you can still catch it of course

specifically they were talking about the trainers surrounding wemb and all the routines he goes through to strengthen his body as it relates to physical stress,,,and also any weaknesses his body has displayed. also, of course, they are training him to be elite in the game

ummm, to be honest it sounded a whole lot like todd marinovich and his dad. not what they're doing per se, but how devoted they are to elevating his game

If he’s got someone like the Dirk coach he’ll be good. We emphasize too much on speed and vertical in the US but really what he needs is flexibility of joints, body used to weird positions etc. The training Dirks coach did + kneesovertoes guy sort of stuff is what the smart modern athletes are now progressing toward.

Feels like he's some national project at this point, everybody around him trying to do what's right by him and what's best for his long term career. Probably a much better situation to be in rather than a random AAU coach trying to milk him for all he's worth and asking him to dunk everything for the highlights or play 4 games a day on the weekends.

That **** Gerschwinder taught him how to shoot like Dirk. League is f***ed!! The end of basketball is here!!

Whichever team drafts him is instantly a legitimate contender.

See you in fifteen years when this kid retires

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Crazy part is that on YouTube the game was 1080p then when I went to the app it was 720, and that’s the one they want mfs to pay for hahah.

No one's ever a sure thing, but people are grasping at straws by saying things like Wemby will be a bust or Scoot should go over him. Sure, he could get hurt. Sure, he could be a bust. So can any player ever drafted. How about we all just hope he is as good as advertised because watching fun players is fun.

Someone called him Rudy Gobert? If you're going to be that lazy with your analysis why even post?

To me he's what we thought Kristaps would be, plus monster defense.
