Victor WentBananas should've been an all-star, coach Pop was holding him back.

It really depends what they do this off season. If they get a good pg, he’ll be unstoppable.

Wtf, at this rate he will end the season like a top 5 player. In his rookie season. Insane.

Duncan was basically a Top 5 player as well at the end of his rookie year.

The fact that the Spurs have the record they do really does say a lot about the rest of the roster, though again, I suppose that's not a bad thing because I don't see them getting into the high lottery again after this year for a long while.

Duncan played a **** more minutes every game and was 2 years older.

Wemby will not even crack 30 mpg overall for the year.

I'm interested in next season for Wemby.

Doncic was euroleague experienced like Wemby when he came to NBA as well. Doncic had a good rookie year but he exploded as a sophomore and became a top 5 player (1st team all NBA).

Could see Wemby doing the same.

I reckon the Spurs should give him another 5 years without a PG. Will be good for his development to face the adversity.

I don t see the problem with my original post. I didn't say he was going to be a bust. Admittedly he has improved a lot in terms of shooting efficiency and overall offensive game. Plus I am impressed by his passing game which actually seems to go under the radar here. Defensively he is already elite due to length and extreme agility/mobility.

I'm still not sure whether his offensive game will ever be elite. He is putting up stats on a garbage team with no expectations to win and a green light to do whatever he wants, in a league that has inflated scoring by restricting what offenses can do.

So, help me out here, logically speaking which scenario is more likely -

A. He gets stronger over the next 3 years and is able to hold position better, removing the option for teams to put smaller guys on him, much like how Kristaps eviscerates wings in the post now. As a result of getting stronger his drive game opens up more and teams can only defend him with their C, the vast majority of them can't do it which is why teams try to defend him with wings in the first place.

B. He becomes less efficient as he gets older and stronger, a worse shooter, somehow the passing we're seeing from him gets worse as he plays more and his teammates improve.

Somehow to you, B seems more likely than A?

I think the issue with what you're saying is, even if he only pans out to be above average offensively (which I think he can surpass), he'll probably be the best defender in the league. It's like getting a souped up Kevin Garnett, who is already an all time great talent. Even without becoming an elite scorer he's probably going to be the most impactful/best player in the league.

The dude is hitting between the legs threes at a 40% clip lately & his face up & back to the basket post up game will only continue to develop (& it’s already good). He’s clearly getting more comfortable. Game is already slowing down for him. His passing skills & willingness to pass means any double team will be burned.

Will he have games or stretches where he struggles along the way? Of course. Dude is human, after all.

If you can’t see that he’s going to be elite offensively at this point…i don’t know wth you’re watching.

Who knew that a HOF coach knows better how to handle an elite prospect compared to an average realgm user. That's was quite a surprise

I don't know. I don't have a crystal ball. It isn't clear to me that he is an elite talent on offense or that he will become a perenial 28+PPG scorer on offense. I was watching Luka on offense in his rookie year and I immediately understood that he is a generational talent on offense. He might become the next Jordan at 7ft 4 and eviscerate the league but it seems just people were accusing of posting too prematurely about my concerns it seems that a lot of posters are going the other extreme posting stats over a meaningless 8 game sample at the end of the regular season when the team is 11-48.
