Answer: Because 1x1 basketball is actually terrible to watch. People think it will be this beautiful thing between Iversons, but in reality you just end up with brutes mashing up against each other. The NBA actually ran 1x1 tournament in the '70s. Bob Lanier won. They didn't hold another one, because really, nobody once to see that.

This was probably one of the biggest surprises of the Olympics. Greatest NBA shooter of all-time shooting career lows percentage wise. I hope that he is not nursing an injury, similar to Dame in 2021.

I would have thought he would have a field day considering he wouldn’t get as much attention with all the stars he is playing with, the competition is not as great, and the 3 point line is shorter.

The court is smaller, making it easier to chase someone off the three-point line without opening up in the entire paint, especially if you can park a big man in the paint due to the lack of a three-second rule.

While the difference may not be large, it is sufficient to create just that less bit of spacing for shooters.

I always thought FIBA desperately promoting 3x3 basketball was absolute nonsense. So anyway I gave it a chance yesterday and watched for a bit, and it was total letdown and an awful product. No way in hell 3x3 basketball will never be what for example beach volley is compared to real volleyball, no matter how hard FIBA execs try to make it happen.

I also personally think everything involving a horse should be dropped. That **** is just in there for wealthy aristocrats and royalty to compete for medals.

1,000% agree on this. At least give the medal to the horse and not its owner.

I was going to ask earlier who I'm supposed to root for in these horse events, the horse or the rider, but I decided it wasn't worth the bother when I realized 5 minutes later that all they do is jump over bushes.
