Rodney stuckey wants 10 mil per. Being a pistons fan, HE OUT HIS F* MIND. Thorton's deal(30 for 4) didn't help his case as many consider stuckey better than him. However i put his value right about there. So what do other posters think of detroits 10 million dollar man? anyone want him?

WOW! I know his asking pricing is dumb but @ the $45mill mark he would only be a mill difference and $5mill overall and he still balks? WTF....see thats what happens when Joe D made it seems like he was the heir apparent to Billups, over inflated self-worth, this guy isn't even a true PG

Sounds like Stuckey wants out of Detroit.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Detroit should let Stuckey walk. I don't think any other team has even offered him anything. Why in the hell would you offer him 8-9 million in the first place? This could be the deal that sinks Joe D.

Stuckey's people threatening to take Pistons' 1 year qualifying offer. If they do, he's an unrestricted FA in summer of 2012.

Stuckey's qualifying offer is for $3,868,443. If he signs it, big pay cut this year from Pistons offer.

Stuckey's reps have contacted a couple of teams about sign-and-trades. Very unlikely Pistons will agree to one. They want to keep him.

is he even much of a SG? Based on his fg% and 3pt% he isn't very good at shooting the ball at all, with Knight as Pg of future why would you even commit this type of salary to him?

You don't "offer" a guy w/ a known heart issue 5yrs/ $40M-$45M.

You "offer" the guy a handshake, *"Derek Jeter Gift Basket"*, and the obligatory "Good luck in your future endeavors, because it's over" smiling head nod as you pat him on the back HARD like Jim Harbaugh.

The Detroit Pistons and restricted free agent Rodney Stuckey are struggling to come to terms on a long-term contract, sources said.

Stuckey, the Pistons' top free agent this offseason, is balking at what the Pistons are prepared to pay him. The Pistons have discussed a deal that would pay Stuckey between $40 million and $45 million over five years, according to sources.

By comparison, Mike Conley agreed to a five-year, $40 million extension with the Memphis Grizzlies in November.

Stuckey's representatives, seeking an even bigger deal, have been contacting other teams the past few days, looking to broker a sign-and-trade deal. However, the Pistons are telling teams that they won't agree to a sign-and-trade for Stuckey, sources said.

If the impasse continues, Stuckey's reps are threatening to take the Pistons' one-year, $3.87 million qualifying offer for Stuckey, which would make him an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

If he's worth so damn much why hasn't anyone signed him to an offer sheet? Not a single offer.

Joe's original offer was ALREADY too much.

Not only should the Pistons let him walk, they should try and sign/trade him for a serviceable big if possible.

Stuckey leaving actually fixes the Pistons roster problems altogether (along with dumping Hamilton).

Now they have Brandon Knight and Ben Gordon as the starters, with Will Bynum as backup. They'll need another backup, but Stuckey would be overpaid anyways for a backup SG.

Worse agent advice?

Who is advising Jamal Crawford or who is telling Stuckey to turn down 5/40 and play for less than half of that on a one year deal with a team loaded with guards and who wouldn't have massive reason to play him major minutes?

Lets Stuckey play out this final year, tank season with disgruntled Stuckey while developing Brandon Knight as PG. Let Stuckey walk (or trade him for wing), grab #1 Pick, draft Drummond... future looks brighter for Detriot. Stuckey plays in China because he took the Bonzi Wells route.
