Subtle.

Bryant knows this btw, he doesn't tend to go as crazy in the playoffs, but yet he insists on carrying out these shooting sprees at various, odd times in his career.
TheOUTLAW wrote:Kobe was shooting well over 50% in this game and in fact his shooting actually helped the Cavs keep the game close. The real advantage that the Lakers had was inside where Bynum was abusing the defense.
fart wrote:If you watched tonight's game, you'll notice the lakers offensive execution was awful. Every play was Kobe shooting a contested shot. This offense is going to be the end of them come playoff time.
Edit: Also Bynum started the first quarter on fire, and he had 4 more shot attempts the rest of the game. WTF?

Yeah, Kobe's playing great.

And for the heck of it, here are some of MJ's games at age 33:
36 point on 34 shots: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 40NJN.html
36 points on 31 shots: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 90NYK.html
44 points on 32 shots: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 30UTA.html
But was anyone on Michael's sack? Nah MJ's still the GOAT
ComboGuardCity wrote:not impressed because he's not shooting efficiently? You do realize the highest team TS% in the league is 57% and Kobe is near 59%? That means Kobe can't take enough shots.

Uhh, you think that might have something to do with the unprecedented level of chucking on Kobe's part? How's the rest of the team supposed get in rhythm?
LA's offense ranks a mediocre 13th this year, and likely to get worse after tonight's game. How's a core of Kobe/Bynum/Gasol + floor spacers in Barnes/Blake/Fisher/Kapono so mediocre offensively? They have played a very soft schedule so far to boot.
LAL's team assists tonight: 30
Heat's team assists tonight: 19
How'd that happen?

He took really took 29 shots as 2 were passes off himself to the backboard to **** with Parker. He basically sat, with the other starters and the bench got blitzed when they should have not had to play the fourth.
You saw those bench stats, if you didn't:
Total Points - 97
Starters - 93
Bench - 4
Total Rebounds - 36
Starters - 31
Bench - 5
Total Assists - 30
Starters - 23
Bench - 7
Total Steals - 10
Starters - 8
Bench - 2
Total Blocks - 5
Starters - 5
Bench - 0
They scored a total of 4 points and had a total of 5 rebounds. They just really struggled to high hell without Blake, who was announced as being out for a month during the game . McRoberts also is on a minute plan by doctors so he won't really play for weeks.
This looks like it will have to be a nightly thing for a month more, not just for him but the starters as a whole, unless LA makes a trade, uses the TPE, or signs Arenas.
Metta World Crap also got benched tonight for the full game ... Doghouse

You said Kobe shooting kept the Cavs in the game. When really Kobe's shooting helped them pull away

Yeah did it help them win in OT vs the Jazz? He almost shot themselves out of the game due to that. Sooner or later he has to realize he can't keep doing this. Its only going to hurt them in the long run.
