No, the SAT has always been a college aptitude test --originally covering subjects like English, French, German, Latin, Greek, history, mathematics, chemistry, and physics and now Critical Reading, Math, and Writing ...
The College Board (creator of SAT) says that SAT measures literacy and writing skills that are needed for academic success in college. They state that the SAT assesses how well the test takers analyze and solve problems—skills they learned in school that they will need in college.
So, it tests your skill in learned subjects, not your basic natural intelligence.
