Rondo ain't leaving. I'm also not so sure Boston is tanking. I have a feeling they'll sign Smith.

I'm not so sure. They absolutely should, but just a gut feeling.

Rondo, Bass and Lee -4- Amare...

Amare helps the Celtics more than any other players they can get if there goal is tanking.

They just did a worse trade with nets. Why not one up that?

And now Rondo has asked D12 and Smith to join him in Boston.

Considering this would mean Boston is in a full on rebuild, Orlando makes a lot of sense. They need a point guard, whole team is young so they can take on some short term salary without an issue. Nelson and Turk's expiring and both 2014 first for Rondo, Lee and Bass.

Talent obviously isn't equal but 2 2014 picks is nice and shave 25 million in salary of the books for next summer. Leaves Green, Wallace, and a resigned Bradley as the only players with contracts over 3 million.

Celtics end up 4 total 2014 picks and lots of caproom next summer from selling of their stars.

Can't be an established contender because the 2014 1st is probably the most important piece in the package for Boston.

Detroit? Not much in the way of young talent (that I'm willing to trade anyway), but Knight as a stop gap to keep the team bad enough to tank along with Stuckey's expiring and a 2016 1st (can't trade our 2014 1st). We can even take any combination of Lee's, Green's and/or Bass' longterm contract and throw in another expiring in CV to help hit the salary floor. Probably not enough, but just my $.02.

If any team is looking to acquire Rondo, they're going to have to take on Lee or Bass as well. Knicks have nothing of value that they can offer in a trade. Houston on the other hand is real interesting.

Are you saying you don't want Amar'e Stoudemire? If you really press, I bet they'd throw in Jimmy Dolan as well. I hear he makes great July 4th BBQ's. Music, not so much.

Houston would definitely send Lin the other way, who they can attach to take Rondo+Bass (for example) is really interesting. Robinson would obviously be the first one out, but players like Terrence Jones, Greg Smith, Motiejunas, and whoever they just drafted in the 2nd round are definitely tempting for a rebuilding team.

I wonder what will be enough. Plus, if they land Howard, could they send Asik to a third team and fetch some nice pieces?

Twitter. And if it is on Twitter it must be true. After all Rondo and Smith are tight, D12 and Smith are tight. Must be true.

Maybe the Celtics can get a bad long term contract and the 2014 and 2016 pick. That is there strategy right.

Celtics added 10.1 mil in payroll for the 2015-2016 season from BK trade.

Yeah, I hear their not even going to hire a coach. The players are just going to have to show up and decides who plays and when to substitute.

Why? Every team the celtics played would be held to 0 points. Come to think of it, the universe could explode if he paired up with bradley. I agree pass.

Can you imagine?
it would be almost like a team full of Brett Favres! :o
