This makes me proud of my Jazz.

Hopefully we're able to get another coach that keeps players hungry and working hard. Brooklyn spoiled the hell out of Deron, and now he's this shell of his former self.
Jazz on your face.

its an outstanding deal for the nets.

We dont get worse on the court. we potentially get better on the court. and cap wise its an enormous win for us, as we shave 9M off our 2016 cap, which would be down to 15.3M

there is zero downside for the nets in that deal

You must not have watched many Pistons games this past season.

you must not have watched many nets games.

deron williams was a bottom 5-10 point gaurd who coudlnt stay on the court and was a giant diva who plyed with the lowest effort of any starter in the league

Dallas is a under the cap team so they can take back 150% in salary ( Less than $9.8 Million in outgoing salary) Or Plus $5 Million ( With $9.8 Million or more outgoing salary )

Calderon 7,097,191
Wright 5,000,000
Ellington 2,771,340

$14,868,531 + $5 Million = $19,868,531 Deron Salary $19,754,465

Not after you sign Dirk, Gortat, Ariza etc

1-Dallas trades Mekel + Cash for Cap Space

2-Leaves Dallas $31.4 Million cap space

3-Dallas signs Dirk $9 Million / Gortat $12 Million / Ariza $7.4 Million / Harris $3 Million / Carter $2.7 Million Room exception

4-Dallas may even be able to convinvce both Marion and Carter or just Carter to return for the Vet Min . If so this opens up $3 Million maybe to spread out to Dirk $10 Million / Ariza $8.4 Million / Gortat $13 Million

5-Dallas signs Marion / Carter / Toliver Vet Min

6-Dallas trades Wright / Calderon / Ellington for Deron

PG-Deron / Harris / Larkin
SG-Ellis / Carter / Ledo
SF-Ariza / Marion / Crowder
PF-Dirk / Tolliver / Dallas Pick
C-Gortat / Dalembert / Boston Pick

Not sure if either Marion or Carter would take the Vet Min . But that is a pretty stacked Roster so considering the chemistry they already have in Dallas I think they Consider it . If not I already pointed out its possible to do it with one getting $3 Million

Dallas spending all of their cap space first does not change the fact that they can take back $5 Million extra in salary from a Calderon / Wright / Ellington trade

why would you want dwill over calderon though? calderon is the better, healthier, cheaper player?

Oh no, I would not want to watch that product. I'd rather watch passive Deron than 2 chuckers take away shots from far more efficient players like Johnson, Lopez, and Pierce. That's assuming that Pierce is resigned and Lopez not moved. Also, how would he fit next to Pierce in the small ball lineup assuming Pierce is retained?

Lets not go overboard now.
If Calderon and Dwill make the same, everyone's choosing Dwill.
Its his salary that's a dagger.

Didnt even know about the 15% trade kicker. Damn.

I would take calderon 10 times out of 10. at this point, the talent difference isnt quite as big, and calderon isnt a huge dog that takes off 75% of the games he plays. calderon wont lead your team anywhere, but he can be part of a success.

dwill you have no shot to win with. arguably the biggest cancer in the league. id want him gone if he made the minimum

Then great Dallas takes the pick out of the deal .. I know Deron hasn't been that great the last 2 years but when healthy and with a good team that has a stable coaching environment I think Deron can do very well . If Deron returns to near Allstar / Superstar Level it puts Dallas over the top . If he doesn't he is still better than Calderon he is just paid more which wont matter either way because we wont have cap space for the next 3 years anyway .

How many times do we have to see this sort of thing happen before the owners decide they should end guaranteed contracts. If the NFL, where you have a serious chance of getting injured and never playing again, doesn't have guaranteed contracts why on earth does the NBA ?

there was no way they would include the pick to start with.

superstar level? he was a bottom 5-10 point gaurd this year, and even when he was healthy, he was playing average at best. He is washed up in addition to having 0 work ethic and being a giant diva. not to mention he has serious confidence issues.

there is no chance he is better then calderon. getting dwill would crush dallas, just like it crushed us

Mavericks wouldn't touch dwill if we want an out of shape broken down pg in ny Raymond Felton is on the market. Im perfectly comfortable with jose at 40m less over the life of their respective deals

the owners would love that.... unfortunetly there is this thing called the NBA players association that wont allow such a thing. and the NBA isnt nearly as succesful as the NFL to where they could withstand losing an entire year to a lockout.

I do agree that Kidd wants Lopez moved. He likes Plumlee and would prefer a Tyson Chandler on the Mavs type center, not that we're in position to get one. I do think it's a tough task to move him.

I want Pierce back if he wants to return. We have his bird rights and 1 yr/15 million could make sense for both parties. Pierce and Smith just wouldn't fit together, both are power forwards in Kidd's system.

And I just don't want those two chuckers on this team. They make basketball hard to watch. I doubt we beat the Raptors if you replace Deron with them. They would manage to freeze our best player Johnson out and not run offense through him which was so effective.

Johnson and smith worked well together in atlanta with smith at PF. that was a perrenial 45-50 win team that got to the second round each year. certainly as good as us this past year.

i dont like jennings, agreed thats not ideal, but it would be worth it to move williams. I think pierce and smith would work, cause smith can gaurd SF's, so pierce could still be the 4 on defense. and with kidd the whole idea is having interchangable pieces at the 2-3-4 so you can switch everything.

we wouldnt be great, but i think we'd be 8 seed or better, which is all that matters until 2016
