you should go back to your method of pulling "the projected records out of my butt in a highly unscientific (and messy) method".... cause this was really a trash overview and projection. A solid team full of two-way players coming into their own, that just added another solid two way player is going to somehow win 10-15 less games this year in a horrible conference?

I think they have a very good chance of being the #2 team in the East, shocking the world as the Bulls take longer to gel and Rose never returns to his former self. Wizards slightly regress after losing Ariza and Gortat got paid. Raptors still very young and have some holes.

Al Jefferson = BEAST
Lance = will play with FIRE
Kemba = will benefit greatly from Lance taking over a lot of play making
MKG = will rise to DPOY level skills
Remainder = will see one or two surprises. Maybe Hairston is better than expected, maybe Marvin Williams finally has his late-career renaissance.

i tend to agree with this. I think its overlooked how having a ton of two-way players benefits a team. teams like charolotte and atlanta may not hit 55 wins, but they will always be good because they have guys who compete on both ends of the floor. this is why atlanta has been able to sustain so many injuries and losses of top players

Bump out of respect. Everyone, myself included, gave you **** about this prediction but it doesn't look so far-fetched so far.

While the order of teams in the standings remained pretty constant throughout the process, I should point out that the final win projection for the Hornets was 36, instead of the 29 in the OP. The final win projections were:

lac 56
dal 55
sas 55
cle 54
chi 53
mem 53
gsw 52
okc 52
mia 48
por 48
hou 47
phx 47
was 47
tor 46
atl 45
ind 44
den 42
bkn 41
min 39
noh 38
cha 36
nyk 33
det 29
sac 28
olr 27
bos 26
mil 24
uta 23
lal 22
phi 19

A number of things have changed since we "went to press". Most notably the additional injuries to the Pacers, and Rubio going out for Minny, and Westbrook going out for OKC. I also didn't know MCW wasn't healthy.

I think the biggest whiff so far on my part has been the Kings. And the ones I took a lot of abuse on but look to be onto something would be the Hornets and Lakers and NYK.

Also, I think I may have tightened up the standings too much. The top may have more wins and the bottom may have fewer. It tends to even out more at the end of the year when teams are out of the playoff hunt, though, so maybe that will get better.

I was harsh on some of these that look decent now. Honestly, dunno if Philly gets 19 sadly enough. Noone really saw this from the Kings that I know of.

Turned out ESPN was right. I think the Hornets should be a solid team, but they aren't balanced and an Al jefferson injury could send them into a tail spin. Bold prediction, but could be right.

ESPN predicted that we'd finish 5th, so not exactly the best analogy to use...

So maybe the OP was right...

Anybody know a good way to prepare Crow? Sides/wines that go well with it?

Not too late for Hornets to turn it around. When is MKG coming back? And Zeller has been looking improved.

And you completely fumbled Sixers, ;).

19 may be too many, but the Sixers wins were always going to be backloaded in the season. They are young and will be getting better, and they will have no reason to tank at the end of the year and will be playing teams that are.
