This is a false narrative propagated by media outlets. It's quite embarrassing that people still believe this; Cousins, when you consider youth, impact, and skillset is the best big in the league bar none. Anyone on the Rockets outside of Harden would be up for grabs if he hits the market.

Can other teams fans stop making crappy cousins proposals?

Wow I'm shocked by that, FWIW he made 23 his last year at USC on 35%. Excuse the ignorance, I'm primarily a draft guy.

Cant speak for other teams but I know I'm going to hype my team's package till the cows come home. It's not always the best deal that goes through, if Cousins want to go to Boston and the Kings think the offer is fair, that's where he'll go. If Boston's offer is a B and the best Sac can find is a B+ they would rather send Cousins off to Greener pastures than risk him ending up in a crappy situation and the rest of your team's valuable players are constantly looking over their shoulders.

Any Boston attempt would undoubtedly work in Ty Lawson (and possibly Faried). Boston could supply the pair of first rounders Denver was looking for for Lawson, and add one or both of their uptempo bigs to get Karl what he is looking for.

Lawson, Olynyk/Zeller, Brooklyn 2016 unprotected first is not a bad starting framework, could even send more to Denver to try to add in Faried. Karl isn't going to want 20 year olds, he will want young or prime guys that have been in the league a bit.

I would give up all of our 2015 picks and a future one or Sully/Olynyk to get Cousins. It's a start.

It'd have to be something like

Jennings + Drummond
Vucivic + Harris or Harkless + picks

Nothing else makes sense because if I'm trading a young big I want one back in return.

Cousins isn't getting traded this offseason, even if he demands it, unless Vivek goes full r*tard. Look at all of the stars recently traded after demanding a trade, Love, Howard, Paul, Melo. All of them were traded between half a season and two seasons after it was reported they had demanded the trade. Find something in common? all of them were traded just as they were about to become free agents.

Cousins has 3 seasons before that, imagine he wants out but the Kings start really hot next season, they are a playoff team, and he's an MVP candidate. Any unhappiness he might've had is gone, the Kings happily retain him and avoid trading him for 10 cents on the dollar. That's the reason no superstar is traded until the very last season of his contract, and the reason Cousins will be in Sacramento for a couple more years at least.

If I were a Kings fan and they traded him that would be it for me.

It's a shame the team signed Rudy Gay long term since the most likely trade scenario puts the Kings into a rebuild. If the Kings want to win now with a Cousins deal they need to trade him to another team that needs to shake things up after a likely post season disappointment.

Clippers could make sense in a Jordan S&T with Redick also coming back and maybe Thompson going there.

If Kings look to rebuild then they should move Gay as well. Curious to see if the market is favorable for him.

I've never understood using the term "rebuild" to describe blowing up a team that hasn't made the playoffs in its current form. The Kings have the second longest playoff draught in the league. They have been rebuilding for nearly 10 years.

Are you kiddin' me? So we give up a top 4 pick in this draft, our 3 young talented guys that we project to be at least in the rotation for years to come, and an unprotected 1st next year for Cousins and Landry? Get out of here.

1st pick + Dieng + Shabazz I could see us giving up, but Lavine and 2016 unprotected... no way.

I think 99 out of 100 people would rather have Davis. You are the 1 that wouldn't. Cousins is not the best big in the L, and Davis is even younger. He's up there, though.

If Magic hire Malone, you are pretty sure that DMC will request a trade and ask for a DMC-Malone reunion

I cant see Kings turning down a top5 pick+Vuc type of deal once DMC request a trade

They could easily turn that down. He's not an impending free agent. Vuc and a top 5 isn't worth it. Hell, fans from other teams have been throwing garbage deals at the kings for weeks for the number 6. Apparently, moving up one spot and adding in a far inferior big gets you the leagues best center.

Top 5 could easily be the 3rd pick for what we know

Let's say Orlando has #3
Sac would end up with vuc+ #3 +#6

Bottom line is that as soon as your top player request a trade you have to move him and avoid having him screw your locker room

Cousins messed everything up by signing that new max deal with the Kings. He knew that team had no hope when he signed. Should have demanded a trade Kevin Love style and told Sac he wasnt resigning .. then they would have traded him and he still would have signed the same max deal.
