Newsflash! If you read past the title, everyone is aware of that.

Doesn't look like it bruh...asking if Iggy is finals MVP when he had only one good game. Usually the MVP doesn't go to the best Defensive player....before the game people were saying Lebron would win MVP even if he lost

If the Warriors win, I'd say yeah it's Iggy at this point (assuming he keeps up his stellar play) and if the Cavs win it will likely be Lebron who explodes for the rest of the series.

He's played phenomenal Defense but lets look at the #'s

Game 1 - 15 Pts
Game 2 - 7 PTs
Game 3 - 15 Pts
Game 4 - 22 pts

He's averaged 14.8 pts a game and that's the MVP?

Initially I thought this as well, but I think you still have to go with Curry. Everything that GS does offensively starts with him. The only reason that Iggy is playing so well is that Cavs are guarding him with Mozgov. They are essentially doing what GS did when they put Bogut on Tony Allen - putting a big on what they think is the weakest wing, and daring him to beat them. It worked for GS - it made Tony Allen unplayable. Iggy has risen to the challenge, but it's all because of how he's being guarded.

Curry, on the flip side, is constantly being double teamed, and passing out of those double teams creates 4 on 3 situations for the rest of his teammates, including many of those open Iguodala looks. People are saying that he's playing poorly, but he's still putting up 23.5 6.3 4.5 on 54 TS%. It seems like Curry has scored literally every time Thomson switched on him. Iggy's having a huge impact, but it all starts with Curry.

You're underrating his offensive contributions. Scoring isn't everything. Without a facilitator like Iguodala, GS's adjustments to Cleveland's defence would be much more limited. Not to mention he has made key baskets in just about every game.

He's averaging 3apg. Zero assists last night.

I'm not trying to diminish what he's doing. He's playing really solid ball and is great in his role, but his offensive impact is not great enough to be MVP worthy.

If you're just looking at assist totals, you're missing my point. He and Livingston allow the Warriors to run Curry off the ball, which has helped disrupt the Cavs defensive game plan.

He's in the discussion for FMVP at this point because of his all-around game; specifically for his defence. That being said, he's not an also-ran on offence.

I'm not holding my breath for him to win MVP. If the Dubs take this series, I feel like it will have a lot to do with Curry emerging offensively and will likely mean he takes FMVP. Nevertheless, after four games, Iggy has been the best player on the Warriors.

He's in the running for sure, but if Curry has good games going forward, it'd be Curry no doubt. Curry has been pretty much double-teamed 48/14 in this series, and it has opened up the floor for Green and others.

Iggy 57.5% fg, 40.9% 3pt this series
Lebron 36% fg this series, 33.3% 3pt

Who else on Cleveland would be a candidate? Delly? Maybe if he hadn't shot 3-14 in game 4.

As I said previously, it all will boil down to whoever wins the series. Right now it's tied 2-2 but if it were over, I'd say that it would be Iguodala. But let's see if he can sustain it. A big part of his game is his ability to guard Lebron 1 on 1 so far this series. If he can sustain it for the rest of the series than I believe that not only should he be the MVP but the Warriors will win this thing. Keep in mind it was just last year that the player who guarded Lebron somewhat successfully got the trophy.

I don't think 15 pts is bad, especially for iggy. They won't give the FMVP to Iggy over Curry though.

No I get your point, but that's not an MVP role, it's a role player's role. One which Iggy is very good at, but a role player's role nonetheless. His role is essentially to help Curry get open. That's because the defensive game plan of the Cavs is to stop Curry and Klay. It's important and valuable, but not as important as Curry's role, which is to shoulder most of the team's offensive load.

With the exception of game 2 (which Iggy was also not so great in), Curry has been the best player. He has played solid D, though not as good as Iggy's, and has been the offensive leader in spite of being the focal point of the Cavs D.

Iggy is a really good role player. He has not been the Warriors' best player or MVP. This is all an overreaction to an uncharacteristically bad game from Curry followed by an uncharacteristically great game from Iggy a couple of games later.

15 points on excellent efficiency COMBINED WITH phenomenal defense = the MVP so far, as agreed by 2/3 of the people who voted in this thread.

Also, you changed the subject. My first response was to:

was to tell you that yes, everyone knows that only 4 games have been played so far. They're only talking about the MVP if GS ends up winning the title.

Then you changed the subject to how good Iguodala has been in these 4 games, which as mentioned, the majority agree that he's been the Warriors' best overall player so far.

Also, Iguodala has not been the MVP so far he had one good game!

The first you can argue, the second you cannot. Use your words.

Even if the Warriors go on to win the series, as it stands right now, Lebron is the MVP...And that's coming from die hard W's fan.

I can't stand media people or fans that are incapable of watching both sides of the court. Curry has been a TO machine and goes minutes at a time without even handling the ball. Meanwhile Iggy is pushing the ball in transition, running the fast break, guarding Lebron, rebounding, and scoring efficiently on top of that. Rational people that equally value both offense and defense should know that Iguodala has been the best player on the floor for the Warriors this series. It speaks well of realgm that most of us see that.

Maybe you should pay attention to the games instead of box score watching. It should be well known by now that Iguodala's impact goes beyond the numbers.

Although most of Realgm (and I) agree, what are the actual chances the Bill Russell Award voters actually going to give Igoudala the award? There's probably a higher chance of Lebron getting it I feel, otherwise it has to be Curry? It's a popularity contest after all, no?

15 PPG isn't low lol, and it's FMVP not MVP, it's not crazy to win it without scoring a lot of points. Hard to explain to a Laker fan

Well if the series will continue this way he sure deserves it... But Curry can explode at any moment, if he go nuts for two games giving them the title I still see the flashiness prevails over substance.
