It sounds like Ainge plans on flipping the pick for Butler. Maybe #3 & Lakers (2018) for Butler is enough?

What I heard was he's keeping Jackson but wants the other picks to trade to Chicago. Otherwise why not just trade with Bulls straight up?

Stop collecting and do something.

They may want as many picks as possible to get Buttler

doubt it. i think he has moved on from butler. it doesn't fit his timeline. I think he plans to wait out CLE and possibly GS. concede the title for the next 3 years or so. Butler may be increasingly difficult to move now because of the window to title is closed.

Fultz is the perfect player for philly. It would be epic to see ainge and hinkie in a trade battle if he was still there

Here is my take.

- Ainge probably likes Fultz but does not view him as a transcendent star. If he did, Fultz would pretty much be untouchable.
- Colangelo is pretty much lukewarm at whoever is available at #3. Moreover, he probably isn't attached to the 18 Lakers pick and the 19 Sac picks because it was Hinkie's hard work that got the Sixers those picks.
- Ainge probably likes Jackson quite a bit as he is Celtics type of a player.
- Colangelo is really high on Fultz thinking that their big 3 (Fultz, Simmons, Embiid) will form the next dynasty.

So if you couple all of these in, you have a possible trade scenario. And the Sixers fans can thank Hinkie that allows the Sixers to be in a position where they can keep all their young potential stars and still have the potential to make a huge offer.

Looooooooove Fultz in Philly. My god what an impeccable fit.

And Jackson might wind up being the best overall player in this draft so it's really a win-win provided Philly doesn't go overboard on the compensation.

I'm freaking out here man. BC tangling with Ainge is sketch but Fultz, Simmons, Embiid is old school OKC-esque.

Lowe on Sportscenter says it's basically a done deal. That unless Fultz medical record reveal something negative, the swap will happen.

If BC gives up this much, and I'm genuinely worried that this is about what's being offered, Sixer fans are going to lose it. I would prefer Fultz over Jackson or Ball, but not at that price.

So MCW, pick swap and 3rd overall for Markelle Fultz? Yeah Im ALL IN.

That would complete our core for the next 9 years. Free Agents would say yes to PHI. The Process would be over and the Progress to Playoffs would begin next year.

Philly all in.

I duno I think you need some insurance if Embiid goes down. Must keep the Lakers pick or the Sac pick.

Honestly, Holmes is damn good backup. And we should still have our pick in a big heavy draft next year.

Plus we still got Okafor?

To be honest, following this story is more exciting than the entire 2016/17 NBA playoffs.

In all honesty, Boston should just take Fultz if we're looking at the draft in a vaccuum. Trading Fultz for Butler was considered a lot to give up for Butler a few weeks ago. Trading Fultz for Jackson and Jackson for Butler is the same thing, though Boston can pick up another pick or two along the way.

What if the Lakers select Jackson? Would Boston call their bluff and pick Ball? The Lakers don't seem to be set on Ball at all.

He doesn't have to take the heat of selecting Josh Jackson 1st overall and assets. More beautiful assets.

He's going to get the best player, plus some extra picks for his trouble.

Boston should be careful that a team with Fultz, Simmons, Saric and Embiid isn't better than the Celtics a year from now. You're giving a rival team back-to-back #1s.

Fill hole at PF for cheap and get the player he wants anyway(JJ)?

Other than that scenario I agree it makes little sense.
