Trae Young.

He's gonna average 20 ppg on 60%TS, 6 apg, 4rpg. Team won't win much though.

He'll have a high TO rate as well as a rookie.

Unless Bamba just looks like a ridiculous steal n is developed way ahead of schedule by working with Hanlan then I think this will be between Trae and Ayton as an early guess.

Trae's in the perfect situation to just pile up numbers and Ayton is too good offensively to go unnoticed. I think Doncic will look good too but I don't think he'll put up the big numbers despite helping his team win more kind of like Tatum this past year. I like Robinson as a sleeper to make some noise this season too and Bagley will shut people up with the assertion he will be a bust just because he plays for the Kings.

So is this the reason Robert Williams dropped? Maturity? I'm rooting for the dude - I don't like that he has a target on his back so quickly by the likes of ESPN.

Stevens later noted, "I think timeliness is important and, you know, if that's the last time then that's good for all of us."

I wonder how Allen Iverson would have handled Coach Stevens.

Must be. This kid is acting like a complete bonehead so far.

Fortunately for Stevens, Williams is nowhere near an Iverson level talent. If he doesn't smarten up he can find himself buried in the G-League and forgotten about really quickly.

Am I wrong in inferring passive aggressive frustration from Celtics coaching staff from all of the quotes in the article? I'm reluctant to say so with confidence because of how often reporters manipulate quotes. Is this bad press supposed to motivate the guy via humiliation?

I think Carter will lead all rookies in rebounds. He's a solid rebounder; and Markannan, Lavine, and Dunn are going to miss a lot of shots. Carter will be there for offensive rebounds; and defensive. he'll have a good year. Lopez will not play a ton.

Nope, they are frustrated and the organization is embarrassed. They need to assign this kid a babysitter.

what does that even mean? ayton is the next porzingis...but better?

what it means is that folks heavily doubted KP. I watched him in summer league, and I saw what most people would see months later. specifically, KP was a 7’2” unicorn who could knock down shots. that’s the most impressive thing I saw. he could rebound and play defense. it was a rare combination that no one expected him to be able to do right away.

I predict a similar outcome for Ayton, but with better and more developed skills

Ayton has a worse shot and sucks on defense. chill the f*ck down

It's possible but if we use Ariza as a PF, I full expect Ayton to put up huge numbers in rebounds.

suns fans coming out in full force ever since the ping pong balls happen to bounce their way. amazing how spherical pieces of plastic with numbers on them can give a fan base over confidence.

It should be obvious to everyone that Donovan Mitchell is clearly the best second year player, AKA NBA rookie, in the league.

Don’t know if you watched the Kings Pheonix game but Giles looked like the real deal and that’s with horrendous guard play.

I think Knox is in a great spot for dark horse odds. Knicks won't have NO to start and they'll give the kid a green light to shoot.

Wendell Carter is another solid dark horse as I think Bagley's presence really hindered Carter from showing his full game.

I could see Ayton struggle a bit given he has no proven point guard to play with and set him up.

Don't know what to expedct from Doncic, not sure if his athleticism will hold him back.

Markkanen? Durant?

Ayton's shot is nowhere near that good. Still a work in progress.

You're kind of making my point. He didn't take a ton of jumpers, so the sample is too small to really extrapolate anyway, and from 20+ feet he was very inconsistent. Not just in shooting %, but if you watched him play you would have seen a lot of those long jumpers being waaay off. Hence why I said work in progress. He's nowhere near the level of guys like Lauri and KD. He's not even as good a shooter as JJJ.
