Most folks within the US don't actually travel outside its borders, so it's harder for them to get a grasp on what a cosmopolitan culture is really like. That's why the "Mind = Blown" moment never gets old.

I'm glad you and your cultured and open-minded friend from up north have the ability to generalize 325 million people

Not generalizing, and that was not the intention. But highlighting that the vast majority of American citizenry don't have an international passport, and have traveled outside their borders. If I recall correctly, only 36% or less of US citizens do. At least according to the US state department census data.

The whole international/cosmopolitan factor is only hyper-highlighted further in Toronto, where as of 2011, 52% of the population of the city is foreign born. That number has increased in past years. Which leads to a vastly more progressive culture.

PM me if you want to discuss your points further(as this topic is more about Kawhi's Smile), and I will provide further documentation(quality of life, living standards, crime reduction, education, etc...) to highlight the point.

I was listening to the Ringer podcast and they had a story about Kawhi, when the All-star game was in Toronto he didn't leave the hotel during the AS weekend, he apparently hates the cold.

Something tells me Kawhi wouldn't have left the hotel room in a lot of cities, and more so because he's a recluse, not because of the weather.

Hey, I hope the Raptors keep him, but this is a guy that grew up in LA, then lived in San Diego for College and has spent the last several years of his life in Texas. Some people really do hate the cold, and as great of a city as Toronto is, that weather is a tough sell to a guy that's never been anywhere long term that wasn't 75+ around the clock.

haha we're good. As I said, I think Toronto is a great city, and am excited to visit in the future. In fact, my favorite city to visit in North America has been Vancouver. I got nothing but good things to say about Canada, but I take exception to the post above yours attacking the intellect of an entire group of people.

Luckily Toronto has a fairly decent summer, and I mean... you're travelling all winter as an NBA player anyway.

I see what you are saying, but aside from a really weird coldstreak that hit the entire eastern seaboard during the ASG a couple years ago, weather has been warmer than on record for the most part for the majority of the year aside from January/February.

A lot of people are just as likely to be surprised that we are experiencing summer weather of near 40 C with the humidex, or 104 F for our friends in the south.

If I was Masai, I would take Kawhi to Caribana, and let the magic take hold. But then again, this may give him reason to interact with Lebron who spends parts of his summers here during that timeframe

Im pretty sure there's only two Jordan stores in the world one in Chicago and one in Toronto. Kawhi is with Jordan along with drake there could be something to work with if a shoe deal is something he really wants. The Toronto market has a lot of potential. Way too many sneakerheads out here waiting for someone to rep their city. Kawhi would be perfect.

I'm a big fan of nonconformity and would love to see this actually. I can see the headline" Man goes to work.Work pays off.Something something greatest player in franchise history"
My opinion may not be your opinion or their opinion but I have it.

Yeah, Jordan only has two official stores in North America as his local brand flagships.

They are apparently working on adding a huge billboard near the downtown Jordan store.
