Probably Derozan. People acting like he carried the Spurs and deserved all-NBA consideration when he might have actually been their worst regular rotation player.

DD led a weaker cast to the playoffs than Lebron, and they just beat Den. Hard to call him overrated. Who would have thought Sa would be 1-0, Toronto would be 0-1, and Lebron would be on set begging players to join him for Space Jam 2.

I don’t think a lot of fans realize how skilled Simmons is in multiple areas, including his ability to defend 4 potions at a high level. They just focus on his lack of range and stick the overrated label on him.

The biggest problem I have with this list of choices is apparently some people think all the most overrated players play for winning teams or have done a ton of winning during their careers, which seems contradictory to being overrated. Meanwhile Booker, Wiggins, Lavine and others who are far more one dimensional and never/rarely make the playoffs didnt qualify here.

DeRozan played well for the Spurs on a consistent basis, watched them all year, and the Spurs would probably be out of the playoffs without him. .

As has been shown statistically in other posts in this thread, the Spurs were much better team with Derozan on the bench than on the floor. This might seem like an aberration, but this was also true for 4 of his final 5 seasons in Toronto as well. It’s a pattern.

Derozan remains highly overrated because he plays no defense, can’t play off the ball, producers middling efficiency on offense and his teams consistently play better without him. And the fact that your argument otherwise here further proves that he’s overrted by far too many.

Weaker? Part of that ‘weaker’ cast was allstar Lamarcus Aldridge. the Lakers were 9-18 in the games Lebron missed. What a juggernaut group of studs he played with.

The Spurs were also better with Derozan on the bench than on the floor. True story.

He's pegged as a generational talent lebron James lite when he hasn't proven anything if anything he's held back the Sixers from making that next leap forward due to his gaping weakness in his game..teams know how to game plan for Sixers in the playoffs bc of him fact.. that type of player is far from a superstar or top 20 player. Guys like Lowry aren't even rated that highly by fans or media to be called overrated.

Ben Simmons, along with Joel Embiid, are the two faces of 'The Process'. One has lived up to his billing, the other has certainly not: Sixers are a lotto team without Embiid playing.... yet Philly fans crow about the Process through and through as if it was some kind of raging success.

Those same fans booing game 1 vs the Nets just shows you how stupendously out to lunch their expectations are of a lineup lead by a one-legged superstar and a thoroughly over-rated sidekick.
