Morey signed his extension during Fertitta's second season as owner. That should've been more than enough time for Morey to know the kind of man he was working for.

My fault. I was thinking of the four year extension he signed in 2017, through 2022.

They got a little too full of themselves and allowed success to cloud their vision when they pulled a cheap move letting Harden go, but at least they learned from it. They went all the way in showing willingness to spend after Durant left. They may never get that shot again, but at least their fans know they won't make the same mistake if they do.

Well, Morey has certainly been making a lot of "anti-Morey" moves since Fertita became the owner which could not have been a coincidence. Clippers going from Sterling to Ballmer...wow, massive change, the Sterling years were quite terrible, but even he was at least willing to pay up some money for good teams, he would just cheap out everywhere else.

Have you ever seen someone cheat his wife, lie about it, then lie again to cover another lie and another lie? Yeah that's what Fertita has been doing, cover one mistake with another.

Everything started with giving Paul that stupid money. This made his contract so bad that they had to ship him away. Then they got Russell "I am not a shooter but I keep shooting" Westbrook by chipping away assets, only to find out that they had to ship away Capela again and go extreme goofty playing no center because that's the only way to maximize the talent of their new $40m guard.

Throughout this entire process, they gave away:
- Paul
- Capela
- three 1st picks
- two 1st swaps
They gained:
- Westbrook
- Covington

Well, how about just use some of those assets to get Covington? Then you have Paul-Harden-Covington-Tucker-Capela. You have offense and you have defense. You can go big and you can go small. I even think Covington is a better replacement for Ariza. If they knew they could get Covington this way they would have done it in a heartbeat but no, because you cheated your wife, you have to keep lying.

Lesson learned - do not cheat your wife. Do not **** up a ball club like Fertita did.

Fertitta family are mobsters...for real...back in Galveston.

My sis-in-law used to work for Landrys...he treated his own employees like scum

Don't know about NHL, but he tried to buy the Astros at one point years ago. He was also a minority owner in Texans at one point.

Yeah I googled it yesterday he's said a few times that he wants to bring an NHL team to Houston there was
some chatter that the Coyotes or Senators might relocate there.

He does make me dislike the Rockets

It reminds me of Ted Rogers, owner of Rogers Communications in Canada. They own the Toronto Blue Jays. Family worth over $10B. The Blue Jays have won 2 world series. Outside of the stadium, they have one statue. Ted Rogers. I live near the stadium, and I never fail to shake my head passing it. A statue of Joe Carter hitting the world series with a home run? Nope. A statue of an old man in a business suit.

I never call him Ted Rogers: I call him Ted Robbers due to the BS the big 3 in Canada pull. What's even more pathetic is that they have a big market, but operate like a small market team.

Didn't Chris Paul and Harden have problems with each other that led to Harden issuing an ultimatum? It's a shame that they couldn't have given it one more run and just do what you proposed with getting Covington, but sadly Fertita the snake has screwed things up royally.

Without him Rockets would have been favourites to win it all once KD left the West. What awful timing to have the knobhead buy your team

Not close, you can **** on Dolan for alot but he'll spend any amount of money. He isn't some barely billionaire Applebees owner, he controls a public company and owns the most valuable franchise in the league.

True he does spend. Tillman's worth a lot more than Dolan and has has been a lot more successful in the business world which is why it's probably even more inexcusable how cheap he is. I wasn't really comparing that aspect though -- it's more of just the incompetence and the needing to touch everything from the basketball aspect a la Jerry Jones that gets to me. They could both easily take a step back and get out of their own way.

Uh ... I don't think so. James Dolan is effectively worth ~$5.3 billion. Dolan's Uncle owns the **** Indians. I think they are both douchebags worth about the same. Dolan is just a daddy's boy though, not sure how Frittertata made his coin.

They both could drink a bowl of e-coli for all I **** care, after seeing that mural that's all I need to know about that clown. Dolan has similar self worth ego problems, he's paid the Eagles to let him open for them and gets anally wounded when the Garden chants for him to sell the **** team.

Yeah Dolan is just sad and pathetic -- I'm hopeful one day he will sell or just wake up.

New York City would be so lit when the Knicks return to glory. I really can't wait. My favorite city in the world and basketball.

Rockets fans are such homers they're not objective about their own team.

Fertitta sounds like he's cut from the same cloth as Trump right down to the mafia connections and malignant narcissism. So yeah the days of the Rockets being one of the better franchises are likely over.

I am sure someone will hire Morey imo. I wouldn't want to work under such a trash owner anyway tbh.
