Before the postseason? Probably Jokic. Now? Giannis. You always pick the champion when it's close between great players.

I mean Murray and Jokic your defense is already liable. That’s two non two way players.

Great conclusion made from waching 10-15 Nuggets games in last 3 years, and waching some smarth analysis like SAS and Rachel Nichols. Please man talk about 76ers, I hope you know something about them because you don't know a **** about Nuggets.

I watched the Nuggets/Hornets and the Suns just as much as my 76ers. 76ers gives you heart disease.
Hornets with Lamelo were the most fun. Suns best performing and the Nuggets was running beautiful offense with Jokic then looked lost without him. You guys could score but the offense looked so far off without Jokic involved every time.

Defense was suspect as hell even at your best. I mean I’m over stat impact everyone and their mothers knew Jazz are paper tigers.

I thought Jokic had the worst support cast over Curry that’s how I highly I rate him. I thought MPJ has some holes in his game which isn’t that beneficial overall. Murray/Jokic suits the team better. All the offensive output is right there between the two.

Gordon was overrated for me. Losing Grant hurt the team a lot.

But for me unless he gets a big rim protector I’m not buying chip equity same with Giannis (PG and a closer now he’s got that he’s good to go).

Giannis is an easier build around to me.

Giannis buys you that two way capability.

Jokic doesn’t.

Rate both highly. Championed Jokic from very early on as the MVP front runner by a proverbial mile.

Even went as far as criticizing the media narratives when somehow Embiid was out and got pushed up on MVP talks which is idiotic and ludicrous to me.

Go back and check if you wish.

The blueprint team for Giannis is there. The blueprint team for Jokic hasn’t come about yet.

Grant is still in my eyes is a big big loss.

Giannis for me, but Jokic is good enough to win a title.

Just some observations from someone who watched every Nuggets game in the last 4 years. This year Nuggets were 11 in DEFRTG with all the injuries they had. Last year before injuries to Millsap and Harris they were 2nd in the league.

https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/advanced/?sort=DEF_RATING&dir=-1&Season=2019-20&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&DateTo=12%2F28%2F2019

Murray was bad defender 2 years ago, and was exploited in Portland series. He is very good now, much improved but people who don't follow Nuggets closely don't know that. MPJ was one of the worst defenders last year. He is around average this year. Jokic is bad rim protector everybody knows that. One of the best in steels and deflections in the league, positioning... The thing is smart team can built different types of defensive schemes around their personnel to be successful. For instance with Jokic defensive skills you want him to hedge hard in p'n'r not to back down. With MPJ you don't want him on wings defending perimeter but with his athleticism he can be your help defender, rim protector. Murray learned to use his size and he is much stronger now so he can guard in the post.

As far as Grant and Gordon I think it is opposite, Gordon is much better fit to Nuggets. Grant is better offensive player, shooter, scorer. But we don't need that. He is also worst defender of the too, not strong enough in the post, not boxing out (3-4 rebs for PF is bad). In last year POs Grant and Craig tried to guard Michell and it was disaster. Gary Harris saved our asses coming from injurie. Gordon can keep even guards in front of him (guarded Dame and Book for streches and was the best defender on them) and stronger players like AD or Zion. This enables us to use MPJ as help defender off of opposing team's worst wing. With Jokic, Murray, MPJ, Barton we don't need Gordon to score.

Defensively our best guard is PJ Dozier, then Campazzo, Murray, Barton... For playoffs we went against Dame and CJ, then CP3 and Book with only rookie Campazzo available. With this we shouldn't made it in the second round, Nuggets basically overachieved in POs again.

As far as building around Jokic/Giannis or who is better now Finals MVP is always >>>> RS MVP.

Giannis...but I'd take a healthy, more mature, harder working Embiid over both.

It's pretty evident at this point that Giannis is the clear cut better player and easier to build around if the end goal is a title. If you want to have a laugh with a treadmill team then clearly Joker is your guy.

Giannis actually plays defense and protects the rim so I'll go with that guy.

Jokic is a great offensive center but it's hard to win with someone who doesn't defend or alter shots inside

Both are amazing and Luka would be the third i'd like to see in the poll. They are the future of the league and i'm proud all three come from FIBA / european school.

To me its still Jokic. I laugh about the same dumb takes in every thread arguing that "X is better than Y because "he" won a ring," as if it wasnt a team game and Jokic was on an island without his #2 option. How far does GIannis go without Middleton?

As great as Giannis is i think he has more weaknesses in his game than Joker. Also has much less BBIQ (isnetad has twice the motor). Also Jokic's game will age much better. Giannis is one big injury away from mediocrity and the way he plays it'll happen sooner rather than later.

Well, with Jokic as your center you can make it to the WCF. With center that protects the rim like Capela or Bam you can make it to the ECF. But if your rim protecting center is someone from the group of Whiteside/Embiid/Gobert you can't make it out of the second round.

Jokic getting exposed on pnr defense has really made me think twice

Just like Giannis is no longer a point forward, maybe Jokic is really just a PF on a championship level team.

with that in mind, I still take Jokic. that passing is so valuable in the playoffs where you are constantly playing half court offense.

Nah.

This thread is funny considering how many people said the same type of trash about Giannis prior to this season.

Lol, people need to chill with their exaggerated responses. Imagine if Giannis loses early next year and Jokic makes it to WCF or finals. You'll look like fools when your only reasoning is one guy won and one guy didn't.

I picked Giannis with a slight edge but blaming Jokic for losing with his 2nd best player out is very flawed reasoning.
