Also strongly disagree with the notion that the bigger players always just backs up the smaller player time after time in 1v1 and that's why despite being a lebron fan I disagree with people that say that he would beat kobe 1v1 just because he's bigger. Also maybe this would happen if like, their life was on the line but in reality players just don't play 1v1 like that. The reason why I'm taking giannis is that he has way better face up, dribble game and can hit some shots.

This is an important point. Giannis, while no dead eye, has range and the handles of a much smaller man.

OTOH, if Wilt grew up in this era…. KAT but bigger, stronger, faster, quicker

so shaq?

Initially I thought this thread was comparing Wilt & Giannis as players in NBA games, not 1 on 1.

While Wilt is the most dominant basketball player ever, he would be challenged 1 on 1 if he started 30 feet from the basket. Wilt was not a ball handler. Like all bigs in his era, he relied on others to get him the ball in position to score. Antetokounmpo would be able to disrupt Wilt's dribbling a lot.

Is there anyone who was Wilt play who thinks there is any NBA player better than Chamberlain?

Nate blocked the skyhook countless times.

Nate said his technique against the skyhook outside of blocking it was to try and get his body against Kareem's as he was shooting, because that sometimes caused him to shorten the arc of his arm, making the shot go short. Nate said he figured out that tactic when working on his own hook shot.
Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.

To be fair, Wilt played as a PG in Globetrotters. I don't think it would be problematic enough to make him struggle one on one.

I don't think very many younger fans have any idea how different the NBA was in the 60's.

1. No kids. No teenagers. All men who had 4 years of college under their belt.

2. No charter flights. Huge men seated in coach.

3. Back to back games every week. Often 2 games played in less than 24 hours, with a Sunday game at Noon after a Saturday night game.

4. As many as 5 games in as many nights. Or 5 games in six nights.

5. Only 2 refs and no 3 point line meant the paint was a war zone. Fights were common, without the scrutiny brought by television.

6. If Chamberlain and Russell were in your conference, you faced each of them 8 times. 20% of your games were against dominant All-Stars.

7. No tanking or rebuilding teams. Every team was trying to win.

8. Less player rest. Teams routinely played the night before and the night after the All-Star game.

Different era. The game is better today, but easier in many respects. Makes comparisons difficult.

Wilt played PG with the Globetrotters? I never knew that.

Amazing that he could penetrate those incredible Washington General defenses. I know Meadowlark had a tough time perfecting the hidden ball play where he would baffle the defense by stuffing the ball in his jersey game after game after game.

If Wilt wasn't in the NBA he'd still be an Olympian.

He wasn't just elite at one sport, he was Olympic level at a few of them. It's hard to bet against that.
