I don't think it's so much the core is fraudulent as the team window is closed with the current players. They're older and don't have much spark left. Whether you retool around Gobert and/or Mitchell, I really don't know. But it's like the team lost its heart after Ingles was traded.

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

i remember last year when this idiot screamin’ a smith called donovan mitchell the greatest utah jazz ever, over 2-time mvp karl malone and his all-time pg sidekick john stockton. and the countless comparisons that were made to prime dwyane wade in the past.

the mitchell/gobert era is finished. time to blow it up. mitchell is a star level player but not close to a superstar.

mavs up 2-1 without their best player. series is a wrap once doncic returns.

so you get played off the court in the playoffs?

Gobert will put a cap on your team.

We just got played off the court now lol.

exactly, Gobert isn't the solution to that problem.

How many out of the 3 will be part of the Jazz next year?
Mitchell
Gobert
Snyder
Hopefully all 3 are gone, time for a rebuild, tear it down to the studs.

What happens if Doncic returns and the Mavs lose? Who wants the rights to make the "is Doncic holding the Mavs back" thread?

It could very well happen if Luka is not 100% or if other players go into a "relax mode". But i do have 4 usual suspects in mind who will be more than happy to make such a dumb thread :-?

Well they already won a game in this series, so the joke's on you.

People who do not watch and just come here to put their uninformed take on our board should be banned. I was rooting for them to get swept also, until last weekend when UTAH won game 1… in Dallas btw mr. best2neverwatchit

Hell no. They beat alot of legit contenders, Hofers and made b2b finals. They were a legit core.

Imagine 2 top 3 players at their position playing 15+ seasons together and only making two finals in today's critical climate. They would be getting slandered forever. Kyrie/KD, LeBron/AD, Embiid/Simmons, Mitchell/Gobert. etc. All have had gotten way more slander in a lot less time.

Exactly....HOFers that didn’t win rings that didn’t consistently even get to the finals in today’s climate would get eviscerated....Stockton and Malone had two finals appearances in 15 years...I’m sure Rudy and Mitchell could match that

Heck no they won't, have a better and cheaper player in Garland already.

mitchell is JR Smith with a better PR department. 6th man on a good team. Absolute sieve on defense

They haven't come close to anything. Their best team, by far, was last year when they got smoked in 6 games by a Clippers team missing their best player in the 2nd round, that was their real shot to make a run. Other than that, they've been blown out in their playoff series. They're the definition of "fraud".

I’ll be curious what his value is like, might be a lot lower than people expect.

I agree

No, they need to trade Gobert. He makes way too much money for what he is.
