His take-down of Caruso was 25-game-suspension material. Never recall seeing anything as bad as that, and everyone's lucky that Caruso's been able to resume his career.

Yeah, you can only like a guy if you agree with everything he thinks politically.
What a garbage take.

Oh I hated him long before this. This is just icing on the cake.

So, let me get this right: he has demonstrated - time and time again (even in a SUMMER LEAGUE GAME) - that he is a dirty af player, who engages in non-basketball plays like trying to trip players or hit them while they are defenseless in the air…and you LIKE him because people like me hate his dirty af guts, and because it riles people up on the GB? Do I have that right?

This is why the discourse on the GB devolves into smack fests - because of thinking like yours.

Here's a prime example of that over the top pearl clutching hate.

Eh idk man. I think everyone acknowledges he's a dirty player but he kind of does embrace that role which I respect. I would take Grayson all day over a guy like Pat Beverly, for example.

But yeah - he's attempted to injure multiple guys so that's why he gets a ton of hate

Agreed.

He's used as a scapegoat.

He's actually a really good dude.

Can't wait for someone to cut the legs out of him when he going up for a shot. Or perhaps trip him intentionally and blow out his knee.

Seriously - I have never wanted to see someone intentionally hurt in the game...but if it happened to him, I wouldn't be all that broken up about it. His track record as a dirty player is well established.

And if YOU like him, then you are a loser, IMO.

Nah, it's the thinking that occurs in the first line that makes an actual loser. Just a disgusting take. Grow up.

I think you make your lack of a point by drawing a line to a code of justice that's almost 3800 years old.

He's had like three flagrant fouls in his entire NBA career. I think Joe Ingles got that many this season. If he's out there just attempting to injure everyone, the refs and people who review this stuff on film are blind as hell for a span of multiple years, or the perception of him being some modern day reincarnation of Bill Laimbeer doesn't really match the reality.

I mean in today's soft ass era he may be the modern day Bill Laimbeer, but in the grand scheme of things that doesn't mean much.

Gregg Popovich: "I want some nasty!"

Grayson Allen has some nasty. I wouldn't want to be on the court on the other side from him, but he's the kind of guy that helps you win ball games ... sometimes ones that you have no business winning. Thus, he is a very useful role player in the NBA.

Allen should get the same respect on the floor that he has given during his college/pro basketball career.

Which is NONE.

That's my take. Sorry if you don't like it.

Karma is a dumb concept in general, but this is an especially dumb perspective on it. Even if you believe in karma, which you shouldn't, a completely different person getting hurt for what someone else did isn't karma.

Ya actually wouldnt this be the opposite of karma?

The karma Grayson gets for injuring Caruso is Middleton getting hurt in the playoffs, which means more shots for Grayson every game which leads to him looking better?

Seems like some weird karma haha.

Nah. Grayson Allen is dirty af. It is one thing to try and get away with crap when defending (like Smart). It is another thing entirely to BE A DIRTY BASKETBALL PLAYER and intentionally do things that can SERIOUSLY HURT PLAYERS.

And here's the thing - I bet he would NEVER try to pull some dirty af crap on a James Johnson/Montrezl Harrell type player...you know, someone who could BURY him. That is how cheap shot artists roll.

No one in the league would do anything to Grayson.

They'd woof like a dog, pretend to want to fight, and have 20 people in between them breaking it up.

Grayson will see you in the parking lot if you got friction.

CP3 kicked and punched players in the nuts.

Marcus Smart bridges and trips people midair, forcing them to fall awkwardly.

These are the things people complain about Allen. Either they are all dirty as f*** or none of them are.

One player gets DPOY for these plays while the other is chastised.

What a fantastic role player.

I don't get the hate he receives.

This is what most people (myself included) think of when they think of Grayson Allen.

I'm not a college basketball fan but was well aware of Grayson Allen's reputation coming into the league

now that I watched this compilation, that's it!? none of those plays are really "dirty" or could lead to any injury. the majority were little things like tripping a player when the ref wasn't watching to try to get an advantage

am I crazy here? are there more extreme instances outside of this video?
