I don’t see how the nba can handle expansions unless the cba changes .

I think they need to be moved to one of their old locations, either Kansas City or Cincinnati. And if they move them to Kansas City, move the Thunder back to Seattle. Then you could have two new teams in Vegas and personally, I think one of Cincinnati, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh should've had an NBA team by now. Just my two cents.

There isn't a fanbase in Kansas City anymore, just leave the NBA teams where they are now. It's unfair for everyone who lives in a place that has an nba team and see it moved out of nowhere. Want teams on those places? Expasion.

Would be awesome. Then also put the Grizzlies and Pelicans in the east.

I'd like to see expansion to 32 teams. Mark Cuban can kick rocks. He's against expansion in the NBA because that will lower his revenue, but he's for outsourcing of manufacturing? The hypocrite, lol.

If they have 4 divisions of 8 teams... this makes sense geographically.

East 1: Atlanta, Boston, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Miami, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia
East 2: Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Toronto, Washington

West 1: Clippers, Lakers, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Seattle, Warriors, Vegas
West 2: Dallas, Denver, Houston, Memphis, NOLA, OKC, San Antonio, Utah

Anyone wanna take a stab at naming these divisions? :P

Minnesota should be the team that moves to the East. Look at the map you posted. Minnesota right now is in the same division as Portland, when it’s right next to Milwaukee and Chicago. Meanwhile Memphis is not that far away from New Orleans, OKC, Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio, and it’s over 1,000 miles away from Miami.

East: Toronto, Boston, New York, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Washington, Charlotte, Atlanta
South: Miami, Orlando, Memphis, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio
North: Indiana, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit
West: Portland, Sacramento, Golden State, Lakers, Clippers, Phoenix, Utah, Denver

Honestly, they should contract two teams. Then take two more teams and move them to Seattle and Vegas.

So each division only has 8 teams except for the North which has 6? And where do Seattle and Vegas fit in?

Cuban’s not a hypocrite, he wants to maximize his profits. Outsourcing manufacturing and being against expansion are consistent with him maximizing his profits.

But I agree, I’m for expansion.

I would move Utah to West 2 and Phoenix to West 1.

I think the divisions would be named Atlantic, Central, Southwest, and Pacific.

So two West Coast teams. Would Minnesota move to the East Coast?

As a Thunder guy I'd love for Seattle to get their team and history back.

Okay, how would you do 8 divisions? I guess you could break up the Texas teams and have Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, and San Antonio as one division and Dallas, OKC, Phoenix, and Vegas as another division but I was trying to do it without splitting up the Texas teams.

That’s why I think 4 divisions of 8 makes more sense, and you’d have Memphis, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, OKC, Denver, and Utah all in one division.

Zero chance two expansion teams would be in the same division.

The west getting two expansion teams would be prettt crazy.

Memphis and New Orleans are a lot closer to OKC and Texas than Minnesota is to Utah and Portland. Minnesota is by Milwaukee and Chicago.

Memphis is also closer to Boston than San Antonio.

Geographically, if the league wants to do east/west, there is no debate that Memphis is closer to East teams in terms of the map.

It would be awesome if Durant ever decided to go back to Seattle.

I'm excited about the Sonics coming back. That and doing something to curtail the numbers of 3 pointers taken and/or made and we'll start a new, better era for the league.

Memphis is 1,309 miles away from Boston and 726 miles away from San Antonio.

Minnesota is closer to Milwaukee/Chicago than Memphis is to Atlanta/Charlotte, and Minnesota is farther away from Portland than Memphis is from San Antonio.

Miami is farther away from Memphis than San Antonio is.

I remember reading a tally some time in the past, but I remember it being comfortably the most in the league. They're at a competitive disadvantage for sure.

I would LOVE to be in the arena for the first game the Thunder come back to Seattle.

I'm excited about this though. I live outside Vegas so would love to have a home team. I really hope they start a local G League team too. The Silver Knights seem to draw well (and their arena is fairly easy to get to from where I live, so feel free to use that one G League!). I'd go to a few NBA games each year but I imagine the prices will be pretty high, at least initially. I'd love to take my son to G League games more regularly.
