Regardless of him losing game 7 we can all easily agree that Butler>Tatum.

Butler is incredible, but I’ll gladly take the 26/9/6 on 62% TS that Tatum gave this series.

Your Tatum thing is adorable though.

Butler is 33 years old. I'd rather have Tatum.

He took his shot. I don't blame him. He makes it, and its a goat performance for the ages.

Honestly no shame in this loss for Jimmy, dude played his heart out. Thought for sure he was hitting that three at the end of the game, felt like we dodged a bullet.

Tatum has already been to more conference finals than Jimmy and about to tie him with finals. He has a first all nba team award when Jimmy has only been 3rd team. Oh and there is 9 years difference in age. Yeah I’ll take Jayson Tatum thanks

Guess they needed Haslem to motivate them just a little bit harder

Eh, the only reason this series went to 7 games is because of Butler. He put the team on his back and had less help than Tatum. However, if I was building a team I'd choose Tatum due to age.

I could not have more respect for Jimmy Butler. The way he plays is nothing short of beautiful. That type of passion is what makes the sport great.

Congrats to the Celtics and their fans.

Kind of hard to make it to the finals, eh?

Reminder that LeBron James made it past this stage in 8 consecutive seasons, even beating a version of this Celtics team in the conference finals at the end of that run with a worse team than Butler's Heat.

Don't worry, im sure he'll eat up another roster spot next year to be their mascot again.

I’ll NEVER say a bad thing about Butler lol, he’s a guy who can level up unlike almost any other dude in the league.

Just think it’s weird to turn it into a negative Tatum thing lol. He turned it over a lot, but he had an excellent series.

Jimmy left it all out there. An all time great performance from him this series. No shade here for his comment. He damn near willed the heat to victory single handidly

Cant blame the shot, he's THE MAN in Miami and they wouldn't even be there without him. Legends make take and make those shots, it just didn't fall this time. He'll be back, Playoff Jimmy is the real deal.

Better in RS and PS quite easily based off eye tests and metrics but keep your biased take. Personally don't care much for either team or player.

I get it your a Celtics fan go defend your guy but you are wrong.

I agree. I think Butler and Tatum were the best players on the court this series.

He's actually one of the least criticized. He can score single digits and no one will say anything negative about his single digit scoring effort.
Because single digits is what he SHOULD be scoring. He's a limited role player (albeit a good one) that plays like MJ In the playoffs, but should be no better than Oladipo on paper. 15ppg is what he should be giving you. He rarely underperforms and consistently way over performs

Why is he then not characterized as being inconsistent or even coasting during the regular season?

That's just Jimmy. he's now saying they're gonna be right back in this position next year. Their team is old & beat up -- unless they make significant changes to the roster they aren't getting back to the ECF in 2023
