He has millions of social media followers and posted this to his public account. Whether intentional or not, it certainly wasn't private. Plus, I don't see a reason why we should be justifying hateful beliefs. Again, I hope that Ant is actually sincere in his apology, but he absolutely shouldn't hold these beliefs nor does anyone have an obligation to forgive him for it.

He's an individual that has the right to like or dislike anyone he wants to and can express that.The privacy reference was pertaining to the fact he wasn't in the street yelling at the group so it was just a thinking out loud moment. Hypothetically what if that group had given him a hard time before he got in the car and he was just venting?

Hypothetically what if these were Ant's 7 boyfriends and he's just trying to look straight?

We can invent hypotheticals all day and they aren't going to be helpful or productive, Ant apologized because what he said was wrong --- at least, if we take what he said seriously.

Before I start, let me be clear, I got nothing against Ant and I do not know what his beliefs are but he's in the wrong for 2 things.

Uttering the slur (2 if we count the N word) and putting it on broadcast.

Hate is a pretty strong word to use though wouldn't you say? You are basically saying that anyone who holds that belief is a **** person.

It would be one thing for me to believe (X is wrong, I disagree with X because.....) it's quite another to believe (X is wrong and because so all people with X deserve to be ________).

There are people who could be against homosexuality but be friends with a gay person. It all accounts on how you conduct yourself and how respectful you are. I don't believe someone is a **** person just for having that type of belief, as I don't believe the belief is hateful (again, hate is a very very strong word). I guess what i'm saying is I see people more in a shade of grey and I don't see someone's belief dictating who they are. (unless it's extreme/obvious which'll cause them to commit a crime)

People come in all varieties, my friend went to a professional who both happens to be gay and be a Trump supporter.

My point is there's no one size fits all, and labeling someone as X just because they believe in X (unless again it's an extreme/obvious one) is a pretty toxic mentality.
