Jaylen Brown and either Pritchard or Muscala (for salary matching) straight up for Trae Young would be a fun reset for each team. ATL to add picks if compensation is not sufficient.

The guy is so bad on defense that he basically destroys any chance a team has of winning with him on the floor. Thank you, but no thank you!!!

Nothing. He'll just sign with the Nets when he's a free agent. And then Nets will trade for another star

If Harden walks, he'll sign with the Sixers confirmed. ✓ You heard it hear first.

curious, as a Celtics fan do you have any interest in a Kuminga/Poole/FRP package for Brown and Pritchard?

I really don't know enough about them to have an opinion. I would much rather keep Brown then trade him, but if he really is intent on leaving (?), then getting what you can for him just makes sense. I don't get to watch too many other teams play, so there are a lot of players out there that I just don't know much about. Trae Young I've seen enough of to know, NO WAY, but the guys you mentioned - I really don't know.

I think the Celtics would want a player who can defend at the same level as Brown, otherwise their team makes no sense. They would need a defender who can score. They would have zero interest in a scorer that is a weak or mediocre defender.

It's gone to the point he's getting blamed whenever Tatum has bad games lol.

Probably a reason as to why he isn't fully committed.

As a Celtics-Fan, I actually do not know. I freaked out last year, when there trade rumors and celtics fans arguing that Brown should be traded for Durant. I mean, is Durant in theory the better player? Yes. Is current Durant better than Brown? No. So why trade your 26 year old star player and perfect 2nd on a championship contender for a 34 year old coming back from an ACL injury. It did not make sense and I can therefore totally understand Browns comments on being uncommitted to sign a new contract in Boston for now.

I don't know why some fans and the front office can not commit to him as a 2nd star and seem to put him always on the trade block despite his solid performance in last years finals. Maybe some people and or the Boston front office can enlighten me. But this current situation seems to be very bad management from the Boston office and a huge mistake as well.

It's definitely not an awful offer, but if the Celtics front office trades Brown for Jordan Poole and Kuminga, they should be fired immediately. Not because Poole and Kuminga are bad players, but because especially Poole does not fit the Celtics defense and system. Brown is the perfect 2nd star behind Tatum in the Celtics system and if the Celtics front office destroyed Browns confindence in being wanted in Boston by all those trade rumors in the last 4-5 years, they should come up with a big trade (which won't happen) or committ finaly to him.

Pacers would put up Mathurin, IND 2023 1st, Duarte, CLE 2023 1st, BOS 2023 1st. Presumably would need to add like Theis, McConnell, Smith as salary filler?

I don't know whats gotten into Trae this year but you would be surprised how much better on defense he has been compared to his prior years. Trae is actually better than a few guys on our team on defense right now. Still not saying he is a good defender but he actually has a better defensive raptor this year than Tatum does. Trae went from a -3.9, -3.3, -3.0 to a -.07 this year on defense and it's actually amazingly noticeable when watching him play this year. The dude is hustling something serious and being very active with his hands and getting into lanes. Something he never done in the past and i don't know who the heck got into him but im 100% glad they did and i pray it is something he stays with going forward. Tatum is a -0.9 on defensive raptor for the year and both of them are around the 150 to 160 range out of 300 or so listed.

Again don't take this as me saying Trae young is a defensive player or a + defensive player but when he has put in the work to improve he has to be given his credit as well because lord knows we have blasted on him for a few years now because of his god awful defense. If he goes back to sucking again next year on defense like worst in the league then all this good will and work was for nothing. But Quin Snyder has really been pushing trae on defense even more the last few weeks so i think snyder might get the most out of him there.

The Celtics are a win-now contender and were in the finals last year, they aren't going to trade Brown for a bunch of picks or developing players.

Seems like he'd be a malcontent regardless of where he goes. Great player but I'm not sure if I'm interested.

The majority likes Jaylen, the handful who don't mainly point out to his turnovers, tendency to overdribble and play out of the system, and the lack of significant growth in his playmaking.

If he is on the market, OKC should definitely do something about it. What's the probability that they get a player better than Brown with their picks?

according to one raptors fan in the overpaid players thread.. siakam is way better than brown. so this would be a bad trade

I think it balances the roster for both teams, allows Boston to trade him if he actually wants out for someone they can continue to compete with as well because he's All NBA in his own right. Raps get a self creating big guard that can score on 3 levels and put pressure on the rim. He's the same age as OG and can easily play next to Scottie and OG for the foreseeable future. Also think he would Toronto as a city itself

That's somewhat of a fair trade. What bothers me is how Brown outplayed Siakam a few years back when we played you guys. Outside of that, I like Siakam. Would moore than likely ask for 1 pick due to the fact Jaylen is younger and has proven more in the league(don't get me wrong Siakam has, too, but Jaylen has done it on the bigger stage).

They wont and Shai/Brown combo is pretty decent. Brown is averaging 26 a game this year.

Go all Kyrie on us? 8-)  Next step would be to get traded to the Mavs in 2 years(presumably signing a 3 year deal with the Nets)
