Curry vs Kobe - you bring up career points and what not. Kobe likely is ahead of Magic and Bird in most career stats, but ranked behind them. The reason? They are seen to have peaked higher, just like Curry is. If you rank Kobe ahead of those two but have Curry over Kobe, OK i'll give you that. But I haven't seen that happen.

The whole OP is just riddled with these things. Ask how someone ranks a player and then see if they are or are not consistent.

Curry was never the defender Kobe was. Offensively Kobe has had better scoring seasons, better driver of the ball, lethal mid range, gets to the line more regularly etc.

What does that have to do with anything I just said?

How about this, Kobe was never the best player in the league at any point in his career. Chris Paul should have won MVP when he won it. :dontknow:

That curry didn’t peak higher. Kobe was never picked on on defense. Basketball is a two way sport. You calling something gibberish because you don’t agree doesn’t make it true. Many have Kobe over bird or magic and curry.

Why didn’t cp3 win? Media members voted Kobe but I guess you know more than them.

I'm explaining why people would vote that way and can still be consistent. There's good data to support that Curry at his peak was the greatest offensive player in NBA history. There isn't data to put Kobe at that level. Conversely the data doesn't indicate that Kobe was an elite defender and it generally shows Curry as an average one. You can disagree with the results or question methods, but again you're trying to highlight inconsistency. As long as people who rank Curry over Kobe are consistent with their analysis then it doesn't support your post.

No. Brandon Roy was good. Kobe was one of the greatest players of all time. 7 Finals and 5 chips.

You don't do that by just being "good".

LeBron plays a very boring style of basketball, while Kobe is the most entertaining player of the 21st century.
They really are like night and day.

What does Lebron have to do with anything?

The OP talked about LeBron a lot in the first post, and LeBron is a big reason why Kobe is glossed over. In fact, LeBron is probably the only reason why.

You have an unhealthy and annoying obsession with Lebron. They were never rivals despite how much people want to pin them against each other.

Only homers have Kobe over Bird or Magic.

Ridiculous.

LeBron and Kobe played against each other plenty, so they were rivals, and they could easily have met in the Finals but the Cavs underachieved after dominating the regular seasons.
Remember the Magic eliminated the #1seeded 66 win Cavs, and prevented LeBron-Kobe in the NBA Finals in 2009.
And the Celtics eliminated the Cavs too.... and went on to meet Kobe in the Finals in 2008 and 2010.

Playing someone twice a year in the regular season doesn't make him a rival, especially when they both clearly liked and respected each other.

Only weirdos keep the "rivalry" going.

Several current players have Kobe over bird and magic. All the podcasts that are out it actually seems common. Magic himself has Kobe as the greatest laker ever and they both only played for the lakers. Not saying that because they played they know better but it’s not as “Ridiculous” as you say.

I'm scared to even ask what podcasts you listen to, but I suspect you'll find they are FAR more inconsistent than the people on this board you're questioning.

I think most agree he's a top 15 player ever.

But I don't he deserves to be in that top 10 conversation.

I don't think that's slander.

That's perfectly fine and it's not slander, it's your opinion.

Just don't be one of those numbnuts that go around trashing other people's opinions because it doesn't align with their own
