Smart Lakers fans have been trying to tell everyone since 2020.

The coaching isn't the problem.

I don't really care about the overall record. I care about process and the process was a joke. We all know JJ was probably the least qualified HC hire of the last 20 years

He'll get all the credit and all the blame but whose really doing the work?

I can't believe they lost to the Pistons. LeBron was blocked by a nobody.

LeBron, JJ and the Lakers all went to the locker room immediately after the loss didn't say one word to and Piston player or coach on the way out. Luke Walton (Pistons assistant) started to walk that direction but they all quickly bolted to get out of there.

I think we're all guilty of being excited about our team. If we play the smart route and wait and see, what are we going to talk about the rest of 2024?

They started out well but they're still the same team
Only team in the top 10 of the conference with a negative point differential
They're just not that good

But the fact is he’s no better than either of them. One is a champion and the other led a team to the WCF their first year.

Only thing I give him credit for is utilizing AD as the true first option. Something that should’ve BEEN done since the acquisition.

Ya JJ treating his players like children because he's "mad" they lost won't bold well with a bunch of egotistical stars. The genius of Phil is his ability to massage and work around the egos of his star.

My rule of thumb is about a quarter of a season before claiming a coach should be coy, or x player should be mvp or something like that. Still a small sample size at that point but at least then we have an idea on how consistent a player, coach, or team has been. Also at that point, one extremely good or bad performance is not going to skew the stats as much. Nothing wrong with being excited for a team but its obvious one or two games is not enough to make a claim on a season long award. One or two games could be an outlier. 5-7 games could be a hot or cold streak. Its statistics 101 to take into consideration sample size when coming to a determination.

Look at how long I've been a part of this board, Kobe and the Lakers did that. The Lakers are my FIRST Love as a sports team. Born and raised in SoCal. I can't support all this BS the last 10 years though. We're cycling through coaches like the Knicks or the Raiders. We're a laughing stock. JJ Reddick isn't going to solve anything. We're starting a 40 year old and DLo. That's not a serious team. Coaching has never been the issue.

It's hard to think positive when they got clobbered by a bad team with your top 5 players are playing.
Can you call it a streak if players have not played good at all for most of last season with a different coach, then a new coach showing a lot of promise has like 3 months to analyze and draw plans on how to maximize these players strengths and mask their weaknesses?
Freaking Gabe Vincent, Max Christie, Cam Reddish had had like 4 months to work on their game with trainers, sit with the coaching staff to find the best scoring spots for them to practice etc and they have shown nothing after training camp and 7 games?

He may be in the running but I still think it will be Atkinson’s award if Cavs keep this up.

Correct but expecting us to win with Hayes as the only big, is a recipe for disaster.

JJ isn't the problem. The roster is terrible tbh. They went all in for Westbrook and will be hurting from that for a long time.
