To be fair, TT has made himself pretty easy to ridicule, but it was clear something really ticked him off. He's taken a lot of turnovers ending games the accepted way.

My question is, what is the team with the lead up in arms for if they are still going to win? Is it their defensive stats? Is it the honor and purity of the game where no team shall score if the other team is not being defended because they themselves decided this is how it should go?

I'd be like, look at this clown trying to pad his stats, but that's about it. Not gonna get mad cause I decided not to play D anymore.

Defense doesnt just give up out of nowhere, they get their cues from the offense after they start walking and dribbling out. You can argue they should still defend aggressively after offense gives up, but at that point it becomes a mutual understanding and pointless. At the end I agree it is a small issue and nothing to get worked up over.

Kind of like when some players fake like they are going to call timeout and then score.

There are so many instances during a game where there are more disrespectful things to the game, like a guy like Harden acting like he's playing defense and let the man just walk by him.

Or a person wide open and no one running to defend because they figure what's the point (hey, you never know).

Or someone making someone fall and then just staring at them and take their sweet time to take the shot.

Or someone getting dunked on and the dunker yelling in their face and bumping into them.

All of these are more disrespectful and punchable offense than a b.s. scoring attempt at the end of the game.

Millionaire offends fellow millionaires by tossing a rubber ball through a metal ring. That's the world we live in.

I hate unwritten rules in sports, just play to the end.

Sure looked like a full court press there.

Love how he trash talks like he's an important part of the cavs instead of a guy who comes on to play 3 minutes when his team is ahead by 30.

Anyway, I'm happy he got his 2 points in garbage time. Probably the highlight of this scrubs season.

You’d think the media would show a guy like TT some grace.

Yes. Grown men who get paid millions of dollars to play basketball got upset because someone kept trying when there was still time left in the game. And Tristan Thompson got upset when Shaun Livingston did it so everyone comes across as a loser.

Well I just re-watched the final few plays, and there really wasn't much there to set him off. A missed dunk that maybe he got fouled on and the Raptors applying some light back court pressure as Porter Jr tried to bring the ball up the last two possessions.

There's something else going on I imagine, whether it has to do with the Raptors coach or even off the court stuff that's got his name getting dragged through the Kardashian rumor mill again.

Can we all agree the unwritten rule is just dumb? Its ok for the team to be down to score but not the team that is up?

Yeah I know, I was just wondering why he did it. He must have had a good reason, he’s not a dumb rookie or something. He looked sort of pissed actually.
He did it because the Raptors were pressing.

Once again Canadians went with Brampton riddicule - for those who don't know - Brampton is part of Toronto that is known for being predominantly indian/african/high on immigrant population - way to stay classy.

In a game between the two earlier this season, the Raptors were down 8 with 13 seconds left. They inbounded and Scottie Barnes dunked it with 10 seconds left.

This game they play full court press at the end of the game when down 30.

Then they're going to clutch pearls about Thompson scoring at the end? LMFAO. FOH.

If Toronto don’t like it then maybe they should stop it? Should be humiliated at their play not someone scoring in garbage time. These “unwritten” rules are dumb as hell.

Play to the buzzer and hang on the rim every time idgaf

complaining about the scores in a blowout is the softest thing in the NBA and it needs to stop.

If you're getting blown out why not just tell your team to dribble out the last 2-3 mins and chuck the ball? You know who actually benefits the most from seeing action in a blowout? The fans that are watching the game get to see a little bit of special athletic ability.

TT was 100% in the right and Darko was in the wrong.

These unwritten rules are really dumb, hopefully other players follow Tristan's lead and take the easy basket if it was given to them, no matter the score or time remaining.

For your first question, it's due to the Trump tariffs. There was some booing in the NHL from Canadian fans against American teams not directed because the teams, but basically saying we're booing you as a symbol to boo Trump.

As for Thompson doing it specifically as a Canadian, has me confused.

I mean this is ignoring the big thing... the whole threatening to annex us part..
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

What obvious reasons?

What are the consequences of this incident? Will it be investigation? Will the Cavs get technical defeat?
