You see this sometimes. A guy gets fouled twice, then gets blocked, and the refs blow their whistle because they knew he was fouled the first two times. I expected a challenge here.

I think it's really dumb to challenge a call early in the game unless it's to save an important player from his 3rd foul.

Well it has a few advantages. It looks like it will clearly be successful, it's an important player getting the foul. Problem is it just trades free throws for nuggets still with possession so it's not worth much.
