dWadeOwnzYou wrote:So let me get this straight. The Dallas Mavs traded him bc of his lack of conditioning despite them doing everything they can to push him to get in shape. He doesn't listen and continues to be who he is. Got it. So now the Lakers are trying to send the same message to him, indirectly non the less in hoping that he will change his way all of a sudden? The Lakers are in a rude awakening if they think he's just going to bow down to them. If he's ever going to get in shape it will be on his own terms only. He's been in the league for 5+ years now, and if it ain't happen yet when the hell do you think it will ever happened?

If he didn't do it this year, with a team built around him that just missed the trophy by a couple games where his fitness was the missing piece, then he never will. Any team taking him on will just have to pray they get favourable matchups in the playoffs all the way to the end

This is Lebron stans vs Luka stans with real Laker fans being held hostage somewhere in the middle. Make no mistake - JJ is a Bron Stan masquerading as a coach. Lebron won’t leave this organization before Luka if Luka can’t bring him a ring. Thats a for sure.

They’re wasting very little time throwing this dude under the bus

He didn't mention him by name but we all know it is directed at him. I wonder why that is? Oh yeah, maybe it is because he is disturbingly out of shape.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Redick seems the type of person that gets upset at you if you don’t thinks he’s the smartest person in the room. I’d fire Redick after that comment. Barely a few hours after the loss and he’s already throwing his stars under the bus. lol wtf?

this is 100% true....why are you taking sneak disses at Luka in the public?

this is obviously a shot at luka...cause it sure as hell aint pointed at Lebron.

we need to stop giving JJ a pass...he has performed like a jerk in the press and this is his FIRST coaching job.

we would kill a player if a ROOKIE player treated the press like JJ is treating the press.

we would kill a player if a ROOKIE player called out publicly a veterans coach perpetration or work ethic if the coach was being called out for work ethic and preparation.

we would will KILL a player if a ROOKIE player if they did anything remotely close to making a decision to do something differently than historical mandates and norms like playing 5 players for a full half with no break...

JJ is getting a pass from the press cause he was part of the press and has friends in the press....but if HAM did these same things boy he would get killed.

OR NOT PLAY A BIG WHEN RUDY GOES FOR A 20 a 20 in an elimination game.... WTF this dude is NOT THAT GUY...

if anyone did this we would be like....FIRE THIS GUY...

he got the bare minimum out of Luka and Lebron possible

did we need JJ to let us know that after the season ended OR could he have just had the conversation with Luka directly one on one in private.

leaders praise in public and rebuke in private WHEN they have a person they respect... you only publicly shame someone if you want to A. shame that dude or B. want to set the tone for what's not acceptable to others...

are there really any other lakers that are out of shape...or are they in talks with Zion?

facts. That's the way it works.

It is funny how clowns like you two would quickly proclaim Luka Lakers best player when it goes well and suddenly he is somehow a scapegoat for 40-year old LeBron...

You're right, it should be Lebron, the guy who disappeared in a pivotal game and gave late game turnovers to the other team as well.

Oh wait, I just realized that you're the clown here.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

Is this a generational thing? Why are some people saying this is a fireable action by JJ? That seems like a soft mentality. JJ is just saying what he thinks is best for the team and the players.

Do people not know that even the GOAT had shots taken at him by Phil Jackson when Phil decided that he needed to poke the bear.

Should coaches just dance around obvious issues not to hurt the star players feelings? Are star players now moreso than in the past, the type to take the ball and go home?

The Laker FO clearly knew Luka was out of shape when they acquired him.

What's the point of trading for him and then shaming him after the playoff loss? All it could possibly do is drive him out of town and he does have a PO after next season.

It's the coaches job to hold players accountable. JJ said no name, but everyone assuming Luka clearly shows an issue.

Even if you are a James hater, you can't deny his diet and work ethic to stay in shape. Hopefully, Luka learns from James this off season.

FACTs...it doesn't help Luka having ANOTHER person calling him fat.

the entire world counting Lukas calories and NOW JJ is piling on.

oh and I think the lakers want to Sign Luka right?

JJ needs to not publicly shame the future of the lakers after giving us the worse coaching performance in recent history

I've disliked the guy since he used to go on First Take and be angry that nobody wanted to talk about Zion's pick and roll defense. Like dude, you know the show you're on. Do the shtick or get off.

Anyone even bother to wonder whether this could be directed at a random role player or two as well?
Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.
