If they win it all, he’s going to be the Finals MVP.

Lol.

Shai is really going to have captions on IG in the summer.

Jalen Williams just turned 24 last month. This is only his 3rd season. People really need to give these younger guys a little bit longer leashes than they do. Of course they're going to have bad games here and there, and maybe even a bad series. It's all part of the growing process. It's not like this kid was the #1 Overall Pick or anything either. He went 12th Overall. He stepped up big yesterday when his team needed him most. That's a sign of maturity. He's gonna be fine and will only get better from here. He's still years away from his prime.

I feel similar to the OP. His game looks clunky yet he puts up stats but everytime I watch him...I'm just not impressed.

he was drafted 2yrs ago

if there's anything to be taken away by now, it's

1-he's 4yrs from maturity,

and 2-in this age of parity players routinely and eventually get it because the game has become more accessible

Harden is realistically 3 tiers above JDubb. Not even close

This has to be the worst take.

He's young. He'll be fine. He is a net positive overall because of his elite D. Let's look at the whole picture.

Jalen Williams > Scottie Barnes. If Raptors want him, they may have to give up Barnes + IQ or Barnes + FRPs

Damn, some harsh people in here. Dude is only a 3rd year player, carrying a HUGE responsibility on defense. He'll be fine.

Thats an awful trade for OKC.. Scottie's offense is all rim attacks with extremely high usage

I’m happy he had a great game 7. He seems like a good dude, and he’s a great young player and nothing is more disrespectful and demeaning than people calling young guys losers, soft, chokers, etc.

He played alright in game 7 but I'm still not sold on him as a #2 guy. Rooting for them to go all the way btw so I hope he proves me wrong.

Williams still passes the eye test for me, but under the pressure of the playoffs, it seems like his best role is a bit more complimentary in nature. In a similar way to guys like Shawn Marion as they dominated everyone statistically during the regular season but started to find more difficulty in playoff pressure. He's also still very young and could grow through this patch pretty quickly.

Heh. As a Bulls fan, gimmie Jalen Williams 24/7/365. Feed that ish into my roster’s veins.

Guy can absolutely be a title #2, esp as he grows and matures.

I mean if we compare him to guys like middleton, klay, murray as second options then jdub is more than qualified.

All I know is his younger brother, Cody, definitely doesn't pass the eye test yet. One of the worst lotto pick rookie seasons in a couple decades for the Jazz. The homers are all like, "lets see what the weight room does for him this off-season", but that still doesn't give him a killer instinct like his brother. Because us Jazz fans are perma-screwed anymore and we have to find some glimmer of hope, I'm up for another season of his "development" , but basically couldn't give him away right now in a mythical Danny Ainge trade. Its tough being drafted based on your brother's success. Some kids can't take that pressure.

He's too much of a straight line drive player right now and needs some variation in his bag. Once he's committed to a move it feels like he can't stop. He's like if Shai was less skilled.

Insane wingspan though, basically guarantees he's gonna be a good defender his whole career. If Jalen Brown can make 60m and be Finals MVP, why not JDub?

He has the least aura for an all star I've seen in a long time
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord
