As if one of the most defensive-minded coaches in the game wasn’t preaching this consistently.

More like he couldn’t make his players faster and more athletic.

Can’t make Brunson taller, faster, stronger, or KAT have more discipline and IQ. Pacers have a speed advantage just about everywhere.

The Knicks were outmatched nearly across the board, and despite Thibs being an excellent coach, Carlisle is even better.

Indiana’s FO created a roster with a style. NY assembled a collection of really good, talented players, but the fit is questionable. Love the story, but attending Villanova shouldn’t have been as much of an emphasis as it seems like it was.

Bench depth and their starters play too many minutes due to… bench depth.

Pacers have been doing it the entire playoffs, off makes or misses.

The Knicks got that big lead in game 1 and let their guard down. Some really poor decisions and lack of focus cost them that game and that completely changed the rest of the series. Ultimately, this was a tough matchup for Brunson. The refs allowed more physical play and thus his size and physical limitations became tough for him to overcome. It was a real grind for him to get anything going. And he being the majority of Knicks offense that becomes a big problem. They had no one they could get the ball to and have them create something from the wing perspective. Everyone could see from miles away that Thibs having such a short rotation would cause problems at some point.

Knicks had no resistance to Pacers transition offense and got baited to play high tempo. Knicks had no advantage size wise like they did against Celtics because Pacers had efficient production from Siakam and Turner.

Pacers also made Brunson work very hard both ends by putting Nesmith on him very tightly.

But ultimately, Knicks basically allowed Pacers to dictate the speed of the game. The games Knicks won, the Pacers offense was slowed down. Not sure why Thibs didn't slow the pace down to a crawl.

It was a really close series and Indiana played marginally better.

Even more so you should be vary of it and prepare your game plan accordingly, but I didn't see anything like that from the Knicks coaching staff.

I think it was mostly a personnel issue. "Styles make fights" and Brunson and the Knicks' big men in particular weren't as effective defensively against the Pacers' pace and space offense.

It's so tough to stop a team from running.

I didn't watch a single second of Knicks/Pacers but in the Cavs series when the Cavs shoot that many 3s and do not make very many, those long rebounds are ready made fast breaks for the Pacers. Plus Carlisle playing at minimum 10 guys every night, his guys have gas in the tank to run with both units.

Depth and coaching. (And maybe KAT, but that's related to #2)
