Mike Brown will use his bench more, so there's an upgrade.

I was hoping they would go for someone completely new if I'm being honest.

Weird that 3 of the last 7 championship coaches were available and none of them were interviewed. From there, I would have liked to have seen more fresh blood considered. The word is that Brown has a long history with William Wesley and that likely factored. Rose would have known him from being LeBron's agent as well. So, relationships ftw, I guess and I hope they got this one right and I'm wrong.

You’re not wrong my friend , Mike Brown is Thibs without this angry butcher look

If I’m a Knicks fan I’m putting my chips on Brooklyn, at least Nets have 5 exciting rookies and great HC in place :D

Pretty sharp comeback. When did the Knicks win a championship last?

Zero chance you win anything with Dolan there. None.

I wasn’t alive yet when they won it and I’m pretty old

Mike Brown has a career 60% winning percentage during the regular season, and a 56% winning percentage in the playoffs. He recently took a team to the playoffs after they hadn't made it in 16 years. The next year they made the play-in. As I said in another thread, Fox only requested a trade from the Kings after they fired Brown. McNair did not want to fire Brown but was forced to by ownership, and now he's also gone from that sinking ship.

I loved what he did in Sacramento, to me he got the most out of those teams. Although, I also think Taylor Jenkins would have been another good choice.

Switched that logo back to Nets from Pacers, huh?

That was quick.

When's the next logo switch?

Mmmh somehow it seems like he has already coached the Knicks but I guess I'm thinking of Woodson. There's no way this is better

So you're saying he's Great Value Doc Rivers?

He took the Kings (THE SACRAMENTO KINGS) to the postseason in his 1st year as HC in SacTown.

Now look at the Kings after they fired him.

I chalk the Kings struggling to the owner being an idiot. This guy will probably let Jeremy Lamb start running the team soon(if he doesnt already have some input)

It’s a safe move. Brown is a solid coach without the risk of Thib’s unusually high usage of his core players.

We'll see how it goes, Mike Brown must have a great rep because he's gotten so many head coaching jobs. I think it's a downgrade from Thibs, who is one of the highest floor coaches and nearly got them to the finals.

i did not expect him to be the hire i’ll say that much, but after the fact he’s really about the same level as thibs in terms of accomplishments. i don’t really see him as a downgrade really

Fair but be honest though. If there was a report a month ago that the Knicks wanted to fire Thibs to hire Mike Brown no one would have been on board with that. And when a team fires a coach they need to do better than "not really a downgrade" with his replacement.

I would’ve been on board with anything that involved firing thibs. The main hurdle was get rid of him because it should’ve happened 2 seasons ago but Leon rose never had the stones to do it
