LeBron is closer to John Stockton's passing, than he is to Magic Johnson's passing.

Nobody's questioning LeBron's IQ, just his entertainment value.
Even LeBron's shooting motion is boring... dribbling too.

Whereas there are some players so entertaining that even their posture or way of holding the ball in their hand is aesthetically pleasing.
Kobe Bryant and Chris Mullin, for example, were entertaining with even the most minor of movements.

Now this is one I haven’t heard before in the LeBron vs Jordan debate. Keep trolling lol.

Jordan's big hands made him one of the most entertaining passers of all-time.
I guess you never saw Jordan play, other than scoring highlights...
Everything Jordan did was graceful and creative, and his passing was full of deception.
I don't need to troll, because I watch basketball, and at home we have hundreds of Jordan games...

I hope that’s on your resumé.

Got to appreciate him while he is still playing because he could get injured very easily at his age. The league already has their next superstar to market for the next two decades anyway in Wemby. So if he retires the NBA will be ok.

When does his next son graduate from college? If he can hang on for that to happen I think he will.

It was a big deal to him to play with Bronny and last I saw film his other son looked better. That was a couple years ago though so I don’t really have a clue how good that son is.

Well, graduate college and be eligible for the draft are 2 different things but Bryce is eligible for the 2026 draft.

He'll stay 2 more seasons then retire after the 2028 Olympics, where he'll play 3x3 alongside Bryce and Bronny.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

I really hope not. Why keep playing? His legacy will only be tarnished the longer he plays. He failed to surpass MJ, he embarrassingly got his son nepo-hired, his longevity is amazing but at this point worthless. He is just sucking up stats.

Honestly he should have done that before this season started. LeBron hasnt been a top 10 player since 2019. In year 23 at the age 40 turning 41 the media still rated him top 10 player. If they really believe that I hope he continues playing in LA as long as possible just to piss the media off.

He's still a top 10 player and he's got Doncic entering his prime. What's the hurry to retire? I think two more seasons makes sense.

LeBron isn't going out without a farewell tour. We will know of his retirement well in advance, and unfortunately it's not going to be this season.

And the counter to this is the guy scored 50,473 total career points, without having any moves, pretty impressive.

Lower the shoulder and bull rush the rim was his move. He was the Shaq of perimeter players. Hopefully this is his last year

Both of these posts can be summarized as "I whine when the player doesn't aesthetically please me." Which is unfortunate, because it exhibits a grand lack of appreciation for talent and achievement. I feel bad for both of you, in your inability to appreciate what you're watching. And further for your inability to appreciate the nuance and ability both Lebron and Shaq evidenced. Wishing for a player to retire because you don't enjoy their aesthetic is crappy behavior.

The idea that Lebron hasn't "come up with a move" is ignorant nonsense, because most players don't invent anything new. The idea that he has no moves is also evidence that a person has literally no idea what they're talking about, or being pejoratively melodramatic for effect, which is basically as bad.

Using simple stuff to succeed isn't bad. It's quite the opposite. Not everyone is going to be daft enough to make life harder for themselves by taking ill-advised shots against extra defensive coverage for no valid reason just to please fans. That's stupid basketball.

LeSteroid is so narcissistic that he doesn’t know how to let it go. He should’ve retired two years ago.

The worry is if the Lakers have (another) slow/struggling start to the season, there maybe the tempting to rush him back too early from his injury (which also happened last season)

I think they probably should be extra cautious and not play him until the final week or so of November.

Not even amazing sport science and Lebron's amazing ability to care for his body can stop injuries and father time catching up

Well I never said "invent", I said "come up with a move", as in coming up with your signature move...

This is the kind of comment that sounds like normal basketball talk at first but ends up feeling more like low-key trolling. It’s not just saying Jordan or Magic were flashier — it’s written to provoke anyone who likes LeBron.

Calling LeBron a “boring passer” or saying even his shooting motion is boring isn’t real analysis — it’s just meant to get a rise out of people. You can prefer Jordan’s or Magic’s style without pretending LeBron’s passing is somehow dull. The guy’s one of the best in history at reading defenses and creating looks nobody else sees.

And the whole “I don’t need to troll, I just watch basketball” thing from before pretty much gives it away — it’s that passive-aggressive “I know more than you” tone. It’s not about the game anymore, it’s about flexing taste and authority.

So yeah, it’s classic disguised trolling: opinion mixed with ego, designed to look insightful but really just baiting people into arguing. It’s the reason you're on your 5th or 6th account.

That's an extraordinary amount of bullying in one post, especially since all I'm doing is posting my HONEST opinion, which is based on me watching basketball A LOT everyday, from DVDs of multiple decades collected (and transferred from vhs) by my family.

And many times in my life I've called LeBron's passing "boring", because we have A LOT of basketball discussions in our family and LeBron's passing has consistently been compared to Magic Johnson's passing...

That's why I said LeBron's passing is more like Stockton's passing, than Magic's passing.
Stockton, one of the best passers in NBA history, so is that comparison really a problem for you?

I shouldn't even be replying to your post, which is not a basketball post, its literally a personal attack and you are clearly trying to get a rise out of me... so no chance of me replying to you ever again, since my honest basketball opinion will just be called "trolling".

But that is what that phrase means.

Perhaps what you wanted to say was "select a move which aesthetically pleases me," but that's not what you said. Regardless, it's also weird. Lebron has go-to moves. He has handles, he has shooting ability, he has post game. "Signature move" is a no-calories concept.

Now, from a purely stylistic perspective (which gets back to how we're speaking about nothing more than subjective aesthetic preference), you're overlooking his slashing, so there's that.

Again, this is empty stuff. Surely, it is meaningful to the concept of personal enjoyment. We all like what we like, after all. But suggesting a guy should retire because you don't enjoy the optics of his game is nonsense at best. And that's all you've been saying here.

I don't know, but they desperately need him out there now. People forget how much physicality he brings even if he doesn't play hard defense. Just his sheer strength and mass helps keep guys in check down low.

Right now they currently one of the softest Laker teams in recent history. You expect to be a physical team when your tallest/biggest dudes are Ayton, Hayes, Vanderbilt, and LaRavia? Rui is basically just a 3 point shooter now. Just gross. Marcus Smart is the only one with balls, but he's old and slow now.
