From AI, it appears that Billups was just a player in an underground poker game that took a rake. For an average Joe not in the NBA, it would be a very minor offense.
So I would say he didn't do anything unethical, but a very stupid risk to take.

1. Big shocker. When gambling isn't done only in the shadows anymore, more people are caught doing it illegally.

2. I still don't understand how sports players and coaches are being caught. Apparently they place their bets at work on company computers? I know in some cases they're caught because a friend or family member is gambling on their games.

I was just buying into him as a coach. I like the movement in the offense (though this was an assistant coach's doing) and I like the "Make 'em uncomfortable" defense. For once I was optimistic about Billups and 1 game into the season this happens lol. fml
