Jackson is balling the last month or so. Contributes in every category.

Right now, Donavan Mitchell is putting up numbers that are very very similar to Monta Elli's career average. Let's compare.

Monta Ellis (career average)
17.8 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 4.6 APG, 45.1% FG, 31.4% 3FG, 77.2% FT, 1.7 Steals per game, 0.3 blocks per game, 2.7 Turnovers per game

Donavan Mitchell
19.2 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 3.4 APG, 44.4% FG, 35.3% 3FG, 83.2% FT, 1.5 Steals per game, 0.4 blocks per game, 2.6 Turnovers per game

Not a great line, but made some cool plays, particularly on defense which were all late in the game and at important moments.

Josh Jackson is showing why GMs mentioned him being possibly the best player from the draft class in a few years...
ROTY or not, doesnt matter. Its what he becomes eventually. And barring injury I see an all rounder with confidence and passion to compete with the best players in the league night in and night out.

He’s been absolutely horrible all year.

All year? No he hasnt, since 2018 started he’s been averaging like 15 & 5 which is hardly “horrible”.

Pts, 3s and FTs. Only thing he is better than Simmons at.

Simmons has done it all year too...

Simmons is 2-0 against Mitchell as well. Mitchell was terrible head to head.

Mitchell has better vision for game.

Simmons leads the NBA in touches and his team is heading to the playoffs.

A long way to go. We have some pretty terrible stretches, and some nice ones like now.

What is him being able to hit 3s based on? He's never been a shooter.

he shoots them in practice, he shoots them during shoot arounds before games, during halftime, and he consistently makes them. and the one big thing that you notice is his shooting form which looks really good.

it's only a matter of time before he starts shooting those in real games.

Dwight Howard would hit threes before games, in practice, and during halftime. I'm not saying Simmons will never be able to shoot, but until he actually starts taking them in games (and hitting them), it's not fair to say he can hit 3s. Just my 2c. Hopefully he shows that ability eventually, because it'll open up his game a lot.

That fake behind the back pass and the score, sweet play. Defender didn't know what happened, hehe.

Love seeing Hart step up for the Lakers as he's gotten more PT. Loved him at Nova and wanted the Knicks to find a way to snag him.

Spoiler:
Christ. Can you stop sucking Simmon's dick long enough to realize that what happens in practice is irrelevant?
Dwight Howard is a good free shooter in practice. Game time is a different story. Simmons will never be a good 3 point shooter. If he averages above 30% for his career, I'll be surprised. That being said, he is a great talent, and a worthy Rookie of the Year. He's going to be a hall of famer, but he will never be a good shooter.

Hitting threes in a game is completely different to stroking wide open threes in practice, warmups etc.

Plenty of NBA players hit a ton of wide open shots in practice. Those who hit them consistently in the games too are the ones who have consistent form and confidence in their ability. Simmons has neither of these right now and has been an ordinary shooter his whole life.

I'm not saying he won't eventually make some, but expecting him to just turn into a good shooter is ridiculous at this stage. He's probably the first guard since 3s became a major thing that flat out refuses to shoot anything longer than just outside the paint. He's essentially a guard version of DeAndre Jordan. He has literally no confidence in his shooting ability outside of that range.

As long as you understand that he hasn't even tried to take one legitimate attempt this year...

Then carry on.
