That stat line from Durant is just bananas.

Best all around game of KD's career? I think so.

Great stat line, but its just one game. Doesn't change the fact that he struggled for the last month. He's well behind LeBron in the race.

Kd best stat line easily imo in his career. Spent the entire night finishing plays not looking for calls. This games puts him right back at 1b or 2 at worse on mvp voting. Thier record is there, he just needs to round out more performances like this(obv not those stat lines) but anything more than the stinkers he was putting these last few

Yeah, its terrific.

Some singular game numbers.

On his game today, he had a 44 PER, 73.1 TS% & a 146.8 ORtg. Yes, meaningless numbers over one game but still crazy good .

Probably his most complete game of his career.

And for those that credit Durant's success to the refs, he only had 2 FTAs.

And to add:

He's at 6 double doubles, and 1 triple double through 15 games.

Wow. Durant almost got the rare 5x5 plus a triple double.

For me it is clearly:
1- Durante
2- P.Geroge

3-CP3
4-Tony Parker
5-Lebron

People are so prisoners of the moment in this thread. Durant has been below average (by his standards) the past two weeks, but one great game and now everyone has him as the leader.

Come on realgm, you're better than that.

He's still putting up an efficient 28/8/5 and playing tier 1 defense for team that is 12-3 and carrying a top 10 SOS. His shot hasn't been falling as consistently as normal, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been playing well overall.

Durant?

The LA Clippers would do nothing without Chris Paul. He is clearly ahead in the MVP race.

Durant and Lebron are always going to be 1 and 2 at the end of the season. So this whole discussion can just start at 3.

3. George - due to team record even though they've played **** teams. Are the Clippers the only .500+ team they've played? If so, pathetic

4. CP3 - The clippers are overrated on here and terrible on defense, but no one can deny that CP3 is incredibly valuable to that team

I wish Durant would move to PF full time, he puts up so much better numbers as PF. Maybe he doesn't have the weight to be a full time PF, but he could be the tallest PF in the NBA. But anyway, here's the stats to back up Durant.

Durant(PF)- 113.7 OffRtg, 91.3 DefRtg, +22.4 NetRtg, 29.0 PER, 2.2 PER against, +26.8 NetPER

Seriously. He allows opposing PF's a PER of 2.2, TWO POINT TWO. He only plays 21% of his minutes at power forward, although he usually plays the 4th as a power forward against the opponents starting PF when OKC goes small. But he also has the luxury to go back to SF if Brooks doesn't like his matchup, so that helps him here.

I figure most people won't realize how good these stats are unless they're compared to someone, so let's compare him to Lebron. Keep in mind that Lebron plays over 50% of his minutes at PF unlike Durant and i'm not saying Durant is a better overall player than Lebron, so don't get your panties in a bunch.

Durant(PF)- 113.7 OffRtg, 91.3 DefRtg, +22.4 NetRtg, 29.0 PER, 2.2 PER against, +26.8 NetPER
Lebron(PF)- 107.1 OffRtg, 94.9 DefRtg, +12.2 NetRtg, 30.8 PER, 12.9 PER against, +18.0 NetPER
Aldridge(PF)- 101.8 OffRtg, 95.2 DefRtg, +6.6 NetRtg, 18.8 PER, 13.6 PER against, +5.2 NetPER
Love (PF) - 112.4 OffRtg, 100.4 DefRtg, +12.1 NetRtg, 24.7 PER, 17.1 PER against, +7.6 NetPER
Griffin(PF)- 110.9 OffRtg, 102.4 DefRtg, +8.5 NetRtg, 22.0 PER, 18.4 PER against, +3.6 NetPER
Davis (PF) - 87.4 OffRtg, 93.3 DefRtg, -6.0 NetRtg, 23.4 PER, 8.6 PER against, +14.8 NetPER
Dirk (PF) - 10.5 OffRtg, 99.5 DefRtg, +9.0 NetRtg, 21.8 PER, 17.5 PER against, +4.2 NetPER

TL;DR: If Durant could keep up his current production at PF he would be by far the best PF in the NBA. He probably won't be able to keep up the production as a starter but i've learned to not doubt Durant. Before last year people thought that he wouldn't be capable of passing a ball, but that changed pretty quickly. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Your list is correct imo. KD & LBJ will take turns to make us stop and think, '****, these guys are just on another level'.

After that, George is there because of his team record but i can see them maintaining this. I know much has been discussed about the Pacers schedule and i tend to side with the argument that says they haven't faced much but reality is that they're 16-1.

CP3 is the best point guard in the league and the 3rd best player in the league imo. He won't win though. The Clippers record won't be good enough and they're currently at 12-6 which extrapolates to 54-55 wins. Not good enough when you have Lebron and Durant. Unless the Clippers learn how to play defense, stop other teams and push towards 60 wins, CP3 won’t win it despite having an unreal year.
