Gotta take the good with the bad with Chet. Not a perfect player. That’s okay, even in that game he did tons of things well.

That seems like the obvious conclusion but no, it's another Kenneth Lofton.

Dude has a very detailed wiki page. Specially about his famiy who wer JAGs.

Lofton's father, also named Kenneth, served in the United States Army, worked in the United States Postal Service for 18 years and was elected to the Port Arthur Independent School District board of trustees. His older sister, Kennedi, played college basketball for Southern. His grandfather, Gene "Rock" Duhon, was a track and field athlete at Southern University, where he was named to the Track Hall of Fame, and competed at United States Olympic Trials.

He did the same thing to the prodigy Victor in international play. Chet’s frame was always a thing, but I’ll take the good here. Chet is an upside play, so this feels really silly. Most of that is gravy. And his unicorn traits were on full display. Lofton also either fouled out or had 5 which Chet drew. There are few other defensive tackles that play in the NBA.

We are not feeling anyway about it. It is a summer league game and it’s clear that Kenneth wants a job, good for him.

As for Chet, it’s a summer league game, a back-to-back, and he’s probably tired. We’re not so naïve to think that this game is indicative of him playing like that the whole season. But he does need to put on weight though, because while Kenneth is a big body, Chet will be battling with more muscular players. But, he’ll be fine.

This kid Lofton Jr has some talent and BBIQ. He was undrafted because he's so PHAT. Said it at the time of the draft too, someone needs to take a flier on him in the 2nd round... but also needs to sign him up for immediate weight reduction or even liposuction so he can get more mobility and lift. He could turn into a rich man's PJ Tucker if he develops his defense.

Chet looked horrible this game. He needs to cut down on the burger and fries or else he'll never make it

Why do so many tremendously overweight basketball players have such great touch? Anyone ever notice that?

Also, why do so many tremendously overweight women have such beautiful speaking voices?

That final fastbreak bucket where Lofton stopped to bump into Chet to prevent Chet from being able to block his layup reminds me of Kyle Lowry. Very high BBIQ at an young age this undrafted rookie.

I think he lost some weight since U19, I loved him last summer, fun player, but obviously his PRO ceiling is very questionable.

This was 2 nights ago so kinda strange to give it its own thread today.

I watched the game and Kenny kinda did dominate Chet, but only for a couple possessions in the first half. After that it just kinda fell apart into a normal ugly summer league game with tons of people missing 3s (Chet looked very tired and was missing badly). Kenny went cold and missed a bunch of corner 3s, one of which got blocked by Chet.

Merging this in conversation into the Summer League thread btw.

A couple of half-baked takes from watching highlights:

1. Moody obviously isn't the same level of talent, but he seems to have a bit of Paul Pierce in him. The pace, the poise, the shot, the scoring mentality, just taking what's given to him, and the way he gets to his spots.

2. Dalen Terry's two-minute highlight reel from his first game was eye-popping. Big-time tantalizing potential there. (I see he committed six TO's, though.)
