I'm not sure why people think this class is exceeding expectations (not that it would matter at all in summer league)

you're legit the worst poster when it comes to NBA prospects. Congrats

I had Sheppard No 1 overall. But lets hold judgement till the live bullets fly. Summer League is a VR simulation.

Look at 2025. They still have Traore and Edgecombe below Bailey and Harper. They still haven't talked about Asa Newell after that Hoop Summit performance. I kept wondering why he was going to Georgia, but it began to dawn on me, he played on a stacked HS team that didn't allow him the chance to show out statistically (this is good though, shows he's a team player). Well at UGA he is going to get to flex his full potential. Just watch. Dude is going to rocket up the draft boards and everyone is gonna act all weird about it.

Are you talking about mock or bigboard tho? Because those are different things. Bigboard is scouts individual ranking of prospects, mock is simply them trying to predict how they going to be picked, theres a huge difference, and predicting mock before season even started is just a stupid job. I mean KOC had Risacher number 1 in his mock, and he was right. But he had Risacher 9th. best prospect in his personal bigboard ranking.

I am just talking about the draft boards. They just regurgitate what someone else has already said about a guy. I want your opinion, not somebody else's.

Devin booker. Been saying it for months now the same player

Big Wos compared him to Jamal Murray.

He's a lot smaller than Booker, slower and smaller than Murray. Projects as a better passer and shooter than either of them.

He moves/shoots a lot like Mark Price probably would if he'd been born thirty years later.

So funny. All these names, Curry... Nash...

Just let the guy play. He may not be as good as any of the five guys named here. I mean, not Curry or Nash, that seems certain. Hitting the peak of any of the other three would be a great outcome. Just let him plaaaay!!!!!

Rockets drafted modern day Kirk Hinrich. In weak draft that's a great outcome.

Agreed. ROY and future all-star seem all but certain.

ROY might be problematic given the Rocket's rotation seems pretty stacked, though if he forces his way in then that probably makes it automatic.

Thinking through who in the top 10 will get big minutes and actually score enough to be ROY, ROY usually some sort of onball guy or a big that gets rebounds and enough put backs, either way they have to actually play like close to starter minutes

1. Risacher: nah, not an onball guy
2. Saar: nah, doesn't rebound and not like some crazy scorer.
3. Reed: probably not, too many mouths in Houston right now.
4. Castle: maybe?
5. Hollands: well he might have the ball a lot but doubt it will be anywhere near efficient.
6. Salune: hell no
7. Clingon : I suppose he might go for like 12pt / 12 reb and that might be enough? will he start over Ayton?
8. Dillingham : has the archetype game to get there, if he can adapt fast enough.
9. Edey : Good chance, he'll probably start for sure.
10. Cody : no, he might be good but almost certainly not as a rookie

I understand you did top 10 picks, but at 11 is Buzelis who just had 28.

Since 1990, there has only been 2 ROYs that weren't selected in to the top 10.

Only two rookies have averaged 20-5-5 in the summer league.

Paolo Banchero
Reed Sheppard.

da Silva is 23 and *should* be playing like this, but it's still good to see. Looks like a plug-and-play forward with a skill set that is going to play up well off better players with gravity... which is exactly what he seems primed to be at the NBA level.

Bad comp. He's waaaaay more skilled than Hinrich, and probably not the defender Hinrich was. Definitely not on the ball, anyway.

Hasn’t it been discussed quite a bit? He had red flags for his back from like half the teams right?

Why didn't that stuff come out earlier? I think he started sliding on draft night and everyone got worried

Supposedly, he interviewed really poorly at the draft combine. He acted very aloof and seemed uninterested.

OKC is a championship contender, when do we stop calling them a "young core"? 2 rings?

I don't see it yet with Sheppard. I don't think he is better than an oconnel, time will tell. He's smart and can shoot by u don't see the physical tools. I also didn't think Stef would do what he does. Count me out in Sheppard. He may be a good 7th or 8th man. Bottom line his game is too below the rim and he looks a step slow which may really show against actual nba starters.

Cam was so weird.

He looked like the best player playing for USA U17.

Goes to college at Nova. Had a good perhaps great season, not sensational.

Supposedly bombed all his interviews. Supposedly had some medical red flags. Neither of these points had been fleshed out in any way in any long form reporting.

Now out here, he looks like a young LeBron's cousin with the way he moves and finishes.

Reed Sheppard looking like an evolutionary John Stockton out there.

Very quick hands, gets to his spots, plays within his strengths, doesn't pound the ball, makes the right read almost 100% of the time.

Recipe for a winning player.

Seriously he looks like if an NFL linebacker who also played high level basketball dropped into a rec league game.

Still the body language can be pretty rough at times with him, even though all backgrounds check is that he's actually a good kid from a good family, not exactly someone that had it rough in the hood.

He's kinda shot it poorly so far in SL though (small sample but still.), the other weird thing is with him is that he'll have stretches where his 3 point shot looks air tight and it always goes it, but he's also not been a consistent free throw shooter so it's hard to believe that he's just this natural shooter.

Not sure he really have the goods to be like a primary in the NBA, despite the physical advantages. and if he is going to be more like a secondary he does need to still shoot more consistently than this (at least if it's for a high level team.)

I think Reed is a really good prospect but this kind of setting really favours on-ball guards than utility wings and defensive bigs.

Ya his ceiling was always 2020’s Stockton (Don’t see the Nash comp as Reed doesn’t hold the ball near as long + hands on defense much closer to Stockton than Nash).

Kid has looked incredible so far and is so so fun to watch. So little wasted movements on both sides.
