Bill Laimbeer and Mark Aguirre would be proud of that set shot.

It looked pretty bad, he was clearly in a lot of pain. As much as I dislike the Lakers, hate to see that.

Scary how good KAT is already. He's already the best player on Minny, and a will be a perennial all star for years to come.

I don't know if they need a guard...I'm not sure Rubio/Lavine isn't just about perfect. I'm not sure that arguments about improvements aside Rubio and Lavine perfectly counter act eachothers strengths and weaknesses and make eachother way better players when they play together because of that. But right this is a rookie thread and I mean I wouldn't complain about Dunn being our 6th man off the bench. 8-)

Wolves need a 3 and D 3/4 more than anything else. Or a stretch 4 that isn't a complete mess defensively, though Dieng's gradually picking up his range every year. If he's the starter, they'd need another solid 4/5. I actually really like the Wolves current starters going forward. They just have a horrible bench now.

LaVine's been shooting the ball really well and benefits significantly from getting to play with a PG. Dieng has in the 27 last games since he started really getting heavy PT averaged a very efficient 13.7 points, 8.6 boards, 2.7 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.3 steals. He's earning his minutes and is doing a lot of the things you want from your glue type starters. I think the Wolves are pretty well set for a starting 5 considering their youth. Just need a bench that isn't getting blown out by their opponent's second team.

The RS is coming to a close at this point, and I think it's fair to say at this point that this rookie class is a success. It's great to see so many players making an impact in their first year, and the one's that have gotten off to slower starts, I believe, still show long term promise. Great year for the NBA talent pool.

Ricky Rubio is the perfect guard for this team, our bench is our only concern, in my opinion.

Unless the ping pong balls smile on them, I think they'll be looking to trade the pick. Four 20 and 21 year olds making significant contributions is probably enough for one roster. Some of the guys that fit the Wolves the best might be in the teens. Maybe a Taurean Prince or Sabonis. Valentine maybe. I'm not gonna pretend to know a ton about Luwawu, but from what I've gathered he'd be more of a backup for Lavine and Wiggins and just as slender and prone to being muscled around as they are.

Prince especially seems kind of ideal. Big enough to guard most 2's, 3's and small ball 4's, athletic, makes his 3's, physically developed. Valentine would be a nice guy to get off the bench for some scoring punch. I gather he may be athletically limited, but he might be able to guard 3's and small 4's. If they traded the pick back and managed to come out of it somehow with 2 picks in the early to mid teens and grabbed, say, Prince and Sabonis to play specific roles, I think that would be a win. Sabonis might not be a perfect fit, but for whatever reason I consider it a mortal lock that he'll be at least a solid NBA player.

The staring lineup still would need to learn how to play defense. That defense has looked bad this whole year no matter who is on the floor.

To me Minny would be best off moving one of Wiggins/LaVine (I don't like them on the floor together with their low IQ styles) for a few good defensive vets. Ricky, Towns, Dieng, and one of Wiggins/LaVine should be enough for a pretty good offense so paired with (for example) Jae Crowder and Amir Johnson that could be a decent defensive team too.

Congrats to Julius Randle! First career triple double, and first rookie triple double this season.

13 points (6-10), 18 rebounds, 10 assists (2TO), 1 block

I'm doubting D'angelo's toughness. Being carried off by two teammates for a mild ankle sprain is a bit strange. Kobe walks off with a torn achilles. Hmmmm...just a little observation. Maybe the kid has never had a ankle sprain before or maybe he has a low pain thresh hold. Starting to think he's delicate now seeing this is not the first time he's missed games due to mild basketball related tweaks.
