That's 3 picks sir

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy.

So LA still has their 2020 pick; and likely the 2022 pick, the 2023 pick, and the 2025 pick?

Yes unless AD leaves this will likely be the case.

Your Lakers get another contender in the short run though.

Howard sighting!

Whats your thoughts on Lakers?

i think they will be a strong contender and it will be interesting to see who they add.

The 2024 first and the pick swap options with New Orleans will hurt their future though.

Yep.

They got worse package now then in Feb when kuzma and zubac were included

By waiting they got Zion. If I am the Pels I would rather have #4 over Kuzma and the Lakers would rather have Kuzma than the #4.

Zubac is a nice young big.

But all those picks and swaps.. That could be a nightmare situation for the Lakers.

Why are people bringing up ainge? He did the right thing. No one is giving up their best young player for someone who wont commit and openly campaigning to go to LA

Maybe I’m alone, but since its the same team and if the lakers empty
Cap space was possible they blew a golden opportunity not getting Jrue too. Jrue is an immensely better fit than Kyrie, Kemba or Jimmy, cheaper and they could get bird rights. Beal has always thought was a good fit, but I’d take Jrue at the price considering his defense (dude can guard 1-3), shooting, and ability to be a secondary ball handler. Probably the most ideal third option to that core and maybe the availability wasn’t easy but if they got him they’d be confavorites with the raps next year (assuming Kawahi is back)
Jarret Jack: “I brought one of my best suits. But looking down at this jersey, it’s just a sense of pride I don’t think I’ve ever felt as a professional. … Nothing in my closet is better than what I have on now."

People saying that the Pelicans got fleeced are delusional. First of all, Rich Paul made it a two horse race between the Lakers and the Knicks. Second of all, the Pelicans will be drafting Zion and his prime will be right around the time when these picks will convey. 3rd of all, this trade virtually guarantees that the Pelicans will have assets to build a Championship caliber team around Zion going forward. The Pelicans will be a force to reckon with going forward. If Ingram, Ball and Hart stick then the they can keep them. The value in this trade are the far out 1st round picks that will allow the Pelicans to either draft players or trade for stars to put around Zion.

But it's killing fans in middle America...the same organization lost two franchise players to LA. Probably going to lose a third.

This league needs to be careful. We're all fans and want to love basketball at the highest level. Please let the small market teams share in that. :(

Yeah, it's the whole "woke" movement that makes big markets big and makes elite players want to play with other elite players.

LOL@the league needs to be careful. Or else what?

Small markets have always been small markets. Big ones have always been big. The NBA is growing, bro. It's not stopping anytime soon.

Win win for both teams. Lakers get their 2nd star while being able to keep Kuzma and having cap room. Pelicans get rid of AD after he openly quit on the team for half a season and they still got a great haul of assets going forward. Lebron and AD will be amazing to watch but injury concerns around both of them with Bron's age and AD history.

This kind of reminds me of Cav's owner Gilbert - after Lebron signing with the Heat - guaranteeing that Cavs would win a championship before LeBron's Heat would  .

This has a sense of deja vu to it.

Nah this is the case of a win win for both teams, for the lakers picks like that are really not very important, for a team like the pelicans they are crucial.

This trade for the Lakers is the very definition of mortgaging the future. They obviously get the best player in the transaction, but man that is a lot of future picks to drop. I don't think it's any coincidence that most of these transfer after Lebron retires. Rob, Lebron and Rich Paul don't give a **** about the Lakers beyond 2021.

How did they have an opportunity to get Holiday? The reason Kyrie, Kemba or Jimmy are mentioned is because they are UFA’s. Holiday is contracted for 2 more years.

AD is a HOF talent that is just entering his prime. hes the type of player who you mortgage you future that has Potential. I will miss the kids greatly and will root for them but AD is a franchise changing player 4 years a way from just being 30.

Good assessment:
