Looks like Wemby's offense game is stagnating :noway:, and before people start crucifying me for it being only one game, he has had a poor preseason as well. So this is definitely a trend to keep an eye on.

It's too early but plenty of players have a sophomore slump.

He had a busy offseason with the Olympics, a slow start is probably expected.

He doesn't have to be great this season to be an all time great. This should still be a development year.

Not concerned

Jesus christ.... Wemby has been improving every single month, hell week by week even last year. Is still only 20, still growing into his body and you guys are saying he is stagnating... Why is everyone in these forums in a "gotcha" mode, where they feel the prove something and feel superior?

Point is: many project him to be a top10 player this season! He clearly is still two or three years away from that. But the hypetrain has him as the goat already...i think that unreasonable hype is what puts a focus on him.

"He clearly is still two or three years away from that" Based on what? The first game of the season?

In a bad game he gives you 17/9…as a 20 year old. I do think he will have a bit of a sophomore slump. But nothing to worry about.

True, but he does need to chill on the 3s. 8 3PA from a guy who didn't even shoot 33% from that range last season is... excessive.

I totally agree. Dude with all universe length should be working inside a bit more. 3-5 3PA a game would be reasonable.

Two things can be true.

1) Wemby should utilize the 3PT shot less
2) Bumping a thread talking about being worried about a player after preseason and 1 regular season game is embarrassing

Let's see where he's at 15 games in, then we can even start a discussion. The sophomore slump does happen, and especially since he did Olympics, he could be more prone due to less rest time, so he might take a little bit to ramp up, we'll see.

I don't love Sochan in the starting lineup because I think he takes away space from Wemby inside as he (Sochan) ends up having to play inside a lot.

This is maybe the first game I've seen that he didn't compete well. His jumpshot form also looks all over the place. Not sure what happened but its just one game and he'll prob look great next month.

People crapped on me when I said Ant had a better rookie year. Ant pulled us into the playoffs in year two.

The game is more than just statistics, and I love stats.

Dude is gangly too, not just tall. Very interesting to watch develop.
