Sources told SI.com in August that Anthony would be willing to sign with the Rockets but that was before Yao's season-ending injury.

http://www.thedreamshake.com/2011/1/10/1927903/rockets-making-late-push-for-carmelo-anthonyI think this trade would work. Melo and Nene
(Houston needs a center don't they?). Give them Yao expiring contract, a first round pick, Scola, Patterson
(they aren't using him anyway) and Brad Miller
I think Houston would be willing to take on Al Harrington contract for Melo and Nene.
Except that I doubt Melo would be willing to sign an extension with Houston. All of these potential trade scenarios are still predicated on one thing, Anthony agreeing to extend with his new team. Don't really see that happening in Houston.

If Nuggets are the ones stalling on this, they're absolutely (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Only other option kinda have to be Melo stalling.
It just simply doesn't add up. Denver's trade demands with New Jersey have actually continued to INCREASE over time when really with no legitimate interest from other teams outside of New York (since Melo will ultimately decline an extension) the Nuggets don't have much leverage. Thing is, despite Denver's asinine requests, PROKHOROV KEEPS SAYING "YES". LOL. The Russian continues to call Denver's bluff each and every time. He's slowed up with the Harrington demand because I'm guessing that he's finally starting to realize how outrageous the Nuggets are willing to let it get but push come to shove, I'd be willing to wager that if Harrington were the clincher, no question would New Jersey take on his money. A guarantee from Melo that he'll ink an extension is well worth Al's MLE contract. It's just that Mikhail saying "ok" yet again at this point will only prompt yet another absurd demand from the Nuggets to further stall talks. "You'll take Al? Good, take Andersen while you're at it". This isn't bordering on absurd, it IS absurd. If Denver had their way they'd probably push for New Jersey to take on practically their entire team. You want the clown who's demanding a trade? Fine, take all of the bad contracts we took on in an attempt to put talent around him. Billups, Harrington, Andersen, and take Martin's huge expiring while you're at it, we'll settle for a trade exception. Hell we might just throw in Nene and Smith while we're at it.
