Even with Durant our vast majority of analysts (and Vegas) has Warriors as favourites. One guy picked the Raps to barely beat them in 7. Somehow this board is full of talk of asterisks and what a easy series the Raps had.

Exactly. People were taking about how the Warriors were going to walk all over the Raptors without Durant because the Raptors are tired and busted up against the Bucks. "What? The Raptors are ahead in this Series? Asterisk! They have no Durant! " Klay played in every game but one and the Raptors were still 3-2 in the Series and those 2 wins, the same exact people thought the Warriors were lucky, but barely mentioned it because its not their narrative. It's like they want to ignore that the Raptors played well and were not the cakewalk they expected, so now they have to pull out excuses. The Raptors on the floor were as hurt as the Warriors on the floor. The Raptors just didn't have a embarrassed US Media shoving the Warriors injury excuse down our throats. They thought wrong about the Raptors and were looking for an excuse. Very few actually admitted they were wrong or that the Raptors were better than they thought they were. At least some guys like Pierce oddly had a change, and Perkins was riding us the whole time to pull it off, because some people judge by watching games and not watching names.

With Durant, maybe it's a different story, but everyone knew coming in that Durant is out and still easily picked the Warriors. If you don't want to give any credit to the Raptors for playing good ball, fine. The Raptors will just take the Championship while people cry through the Summer.

American media, especially ESPN

Such an embarrassment.

Excuse after excuse. After excuse.

What did the Raptors ever do to you to warrant such hate?

Preach. Some people in the Media act like the Raptors didn't have hard playoff matchups in every round and were also banged up going into the finals. Kyle had his thumb pop out against 76ers, Kawhi with knee issues against the Bucks, Pascal had that calf injury in the Philly series. Prior to the playoffs starting OG goes down, screwing up our rotation.

None of those injuries & setbacks would ever be a brought up outside of Raps fans if the Raptors lost. It would just be choke this and craptors that.

I'm sorry for all the injures that the Warriors were dealt with but the Raptors battled hard to get to the Finals & argueably beat the best teams in the league (76ers & Bucks) to even get there and were the last team left standing.

I know that was the point of bringing up the tweet... The person who responded seemed to think it was new though.

I had a feeling we'd be up there with the '04 Pistons.
That Pistons team was unreal on defense. Billups, Prince, Rip, Rasheed, Ben. Their chemistry on the defensive end was extraordinary.
If the Raps run it back with the same squad next year, I feel like we could that '04 Pistons squad a run for their money.
Lowry/Green/Kawhi/Siakam/Gasol didn't play that much together during the regular season. The chemistry still has room to grow between those guys. Not to mention, Siakam and Kawhi are entering their primes so.. :o
