Oh, and all the Warriors fans pining for J West should just go root for the Clippers.

That's exactly how Wiggins is feeling right now.
All the haters better keep that same energy when he turns into a star in Golden State.
4 pages in, I was the first to call this trade a win for the Warriors.
WHERE ALL THE HATERS AT NOW???

Wiggins is only getting started.
Stardom awaits for the 27 year old NBA champ.

They got a lightly protected First-Round Draft Pick out of it.

Jimmy Butler & Thibs were the leaders of the culture. Jimmy Butler froze out the team’s best scorer in 4th quarters & playoffs because he didn’t like KAT. Jimmy Butler couldn’t handle making less than Andrew Wiggins, so he threw a temper-tantrum. But yeah, it was KAT (who was 22, on a team that hadn’t made the playoffs in 13 years) who was the cause of the poor culture.Coxy wrote:Jimmy Butler's melt down rant at that practice before he was traded, should have sounded massive culture alarms at the Wolves, which is led by their franchise player.
Yes, they did.Coxy wrote:I get that they wanted to move Wiggins to shake things up, but they didn't need to trade the picks
Wolves were 39-26 with DLo, 7-10 without him, and losing the play-in if not for him. He contributed more to winning last year more than Wiggins did in 5.5 years.Coxy wrote:D-Lo was never going to do anything for winning games.

I don't think it was a win/win.
Giving up those picks was unnecessary from the Wolves side. The Warriors wouldn't have had any other takers for D-Lo at that time, on a max deal. How Myers turned that into a position of strength with the Wolves front office, hats off to Bob.
Also, the Wolves gave into their man-child stars request to play with his friend. Jimmy Butler's melt down rant at that practice before he was traded, should have sounded massive culture alarms at the Wolves, which is led by their franchise player. Butler was trying to let the front office know, you have a poor winning culture here and your star players don't care. So what did they do? Traded Butler, then traded for a vastly inferior player in D-Lo to appease their franchise player who is the head of the poor culture snake. It was a bad move as it further cemented that poor, weak management. It went so bad, that they ended up getting the number 1 pick in the draft, which in a way was the best thing for them, cause Edwards (along with the sale of the team), could be the thing that gets them out of the hump long term.
I get that they wanted to move Wiggins to shake things up, but they didn't need to trade the picks, and they shouldn't have given into KAT's demands, because D-Lo was never going to do anything for winning games.

The warriors constructed for next year will have three players in the starting rotation playing above average d. That will be huge. If they can get a center that can rebound and play above average defense then this team will be very hard to beat.
Looney is capable but he hasn’t been reliable in the health department.
