Where is Lakers center Andrew Bynum right now? On a week-long fishing trip in Alaska. #notworriedatall

I thought it was the Magic who were hesitant about Bynum resigning. If its the Lakers that are worried...they really should go for it IMO. BK isn't an option for Dwight anymore...The Lakers will have an amazing shot of winning the title, Dwight will be the franchise player after Kobe leaves. If he doesn't end up resigning, where the hell could he go that has more appeal than LA?

Unless he really is scared about the whole Lakers legacy thing in which case he shouldn't even be playing in the NBA. You should want to rise to the challenge and be among the greats on one of the most storied franchises.

isn't it illegal for a another team to contact either howard or bynum to ask them if they were planning to extend/re-sign if they were to traded or for S/T or not unless it was the Lakers asking Bynum or Orlando asking Howard?

reason i ask is that i thought once the original teams engage other teams in trade talks, that those guys could be contacted, thus not tampering.

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine
Among Nets' reasons to push for Dwight finality today, sources say, is fear Blazers will sign RFA Brook Lopez after Indy matched on Hibbert

lol the Blazers are not even going after Brooke, they are going after his brother

that coincides with this tweeted about an hr ago:

Jason McLaed ‏@InsiderJayNBA
Another reason for the rush, B. Lopez has max offer sheet from unknown team on thetable, won't wait more than 24 hrs.

more info:

Jason McLaed ‏@InsiderJayNBA
LA has dropped out of the running due to lack of commitment from Howard, won't gamble Bynum on that. HOU confident they'll get Howard.

Sound like more and more that Atlanta might be the winners of this besides i believe with all the moves that the Hawks is doing, Danny Ferry is gearing up for a trade.

By the way who is Jason McLaed?

Suns C Robin Lopez has been contacted by ‪#Blazers‬ during this moratorium, Lopez tells CSNNW. So far, that's the extent. Lopez, 7-1 is a RFA.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider
Following up on @ESPNSteinLine, Rockets are another threat to Nets w/ Lopez offer sheet if Bulls match Asik.

That makes no sense if they are confident to get Howard. Do they want to play Howard and Lopez together?

LOL, I'm surprised the Rockets haven't done that already. Just throw a huge offer at Lopez, force the Nets to match, and then completely eliminate them as competition.

they sign lopez to an offer sheet, nets HAVE to match, but that eliminates the nets from trade talk.

then the rockets go back to negotiating with the magic without the competition from the nets.

I'm 90% sure it's not "we want Lopez" as it is "If we give Lopez an offer and he accepts, then the Nets can't sign and trade him even if they match."

So basically, give max contract to Lopez and beg beg beg Brooklyn to match it.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

They should give it a shot. They wanted to play Gasol and Nene together.

This has to end today. I don't even care much about the outcome. If he goes to the Nets, I'll feel a bit sorry for the Magic fans. If he goes to the Lakers, great. If the goes to the Rockets/Hawks, great.

Just get it over with.

both are expected to be matched. all parties probably won't bother with an offer sheet and the players will just straight up sign the contract with their former teams, not bothering with the offer sheet part of it.
