Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
I think Barnes will start to impress more ppl soon, since sadly B.Rush is out for the season, and he should be getting more minutes in 3 spot. He has had some really good drives to the basket, and some solid touch from perimeter already, he did not look like a raw rookie at all imo.

MKG will probably be the next Iggy. Solid defensive player who can do lot of things.

He just needs a consistent three and continue to develop overall and he'll be a top wing in this league.
Love his motor.

Smh Beal, out of my fantasy team... these 2-4 point games with no stats at all are costing me the W in fantasy!

Beal started slow at Florida last year and was dominating by tournament time. He's not super assertive, he plays within the team. As the year goes along, and he gets more comfortable, I predict his production will dramatically improve.

Before the draft Iguodala and Gerald Wallace were the two most common comparisons thrown around but with respect to them Kidd-Gilchrist has the most talent and potential as a prospect of the three.
Gilchrist is literally the best of both of them combined, Wallace's strength, toughness, finishing around the cup, post D, blocking and rebounding combined with Iggy's ball handling ability, on ball D and court vision; he has such great awareness on the court and looks like a vet.
He went 1-7 against Indy and three of those FGA's were no calls that should have been trips to the line; it says something that in his second game he gets 9 trips to the line.
His form on his j is ugly but he nailed a nice 17 footer against Dallas and isn't afraid to take them.

Well I hope he continues doing that. He kinda screwed my fantasy team a bit with the Indy game.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
Caught K-G's game against Dallas last night. Anyone who saw his game and wasn't impressed with a lot of things he did, including hitting an open jumper, wasn't looking very hard. He had 13 pts which included two dribble drives and dunks that looked all-star. He also had five steals, and unlike a lot of the Bobcats, didn't try to shoot the ball every time he got his hands on it.

Impressed with Sullinger so far.
He knows how to rebound, he is 9 times out of 10 in the right position to grab rebounds. The last 2 games he has got 7 rebounds in limited mins.
Offensively he is going to be the 4/5th option after Rondo, Lee/Terry, Pierce & KGs so he wont put up a lot of points. Saying that he can hit the midrange jumper and has some nice moves under the basket. The sooner he fully graps the defensive rotations the better, if he can do that he will become the full-time starting PF before the seasons out.
Can see him averaging something like 8pts/7 rebounds in 24-26mins this season.

A good performance by MKG that might have went a bit under the radar

it's a bit iromic since those previous 5 years had sone very highly touted PG's and last years draft was rated as one of the worst for PG's.
Lillard plays way beyond his years, what a joy for a franchise that has been desperate for a good PG for a decade or more and has been rocked by injuries to key young players, nice to see fate "perhaps" turning our way a bit (knock on wood!)

I almost like Meyers Leonard as much as Lillard. I love his motor, he's a great athlete for a big and he plays smart.
