Context matters. If next year for one Jokic doesn't lead the Nuggets with a fully team to at least WCF then yes.

Strangest thing is his teammates that disappear in PO each year. But I do not see Jokic or the Nuggets winning anything with the ball going strictly through Nikola on offense. No matter how creative the passing is.

Without mentioning or comparing Giannis and Jokic. What made Embiids Season "one of the best seasons of all time" and deserving the MVP Award? He has the Scoring Title. Thats it. Basically. What else?

First big since Shaq to win the scoring title.

I had no problem with Jokic getting it and would have had no problem if Giannis or Embiid won. With that said, this kind of thing, "it's his turn" or this guy won two or that guy won only one drives me crazy. Jokic won last year because there really was no other candidate. This year he is deserving along with a couple of other players. So you aren't allowed to vote for him because someone who played years ago only got one? Ridiculous

jokic was demonstrably superior during the regular season by most every objective way of looking at the game of basketball. the arguments for embiid were all very arm-wavey. i'm glad jokic won it and that the anti-intellectual 'hooper' culture took the L.

Curry was better than Jokic last season.

There are 75 scoring champions in the history of the league. Why we single out centers?

The MVP has appeared broken each time it tried to shy away from being given to Stephen Curry. From a historical standpoint he is the one who makes the most sense. The voters will have to hope that Jokic can make them look good in future years.

The award is not called MVCenter, why disqualify guards and wings?

He was worthy of both MVPs, not saying Giannis or Embiid weren't, wouldn't have had problem with any of them winning, but 76ers fanboys who attack Jokic acting like he didnt even deserve this, is absolutely asinine and pathetic. Now we bring arguments that basically saying voter fatigue is good, cause your guy didnt win it. - Oh, Jokic already has one, so no matter what he does, he cant win another one, cause some think he is not as good as Kobe? You people are beyond asinine, look at your pathetic asses, its emberassing.

Nerds are guys who might be not athletic and socially inept, but extremely analytical and smart. We already witnessed how those nerds helped change the game in the last decade pointing out things the "cool kids" didn't see (and some of them still don't). We know the most successful teams and coaches use them (I remember a very telling interview by Spoelstra and there's that amazing article from the NYC about Battier).
And we know those guys watch more games than anybody else, know even the most marginal players and spend a lot of time trying to understand the nuances and trends of the game, unlike the "cool guys" who often just watch the highlights.

Just remind me, why listening to nerds should be a problem?

So your argument against Jokic is that everybody that supports him are racist and nerds? Man you Embiid fans really can't make a real argument in why Embiid should win, but what should we expect when the stats favor Jokic, advanced stats favor Jokic, and actually eye test favors Jokic, I can see why you guys resort to insults and personal attacks.

How do you measure that, cause his team lost. Its a team sport, seriously why it is so hard to understand that, how many people in history guaranteed team success just by their own singular talent? Maybe 3 or 4, like LeBron, Wilt, MJ, Russell? Why it is so hard to understand that you can have most impacful guy, but still lose, there are other 9 players on the court and players do not play 48 minutes straight to begin with.

I hate to be the one to tell you but those 4 never did **** alone either.

At least their guy isn't getting blown bys from Precious Achiuwa, so what does that say about your guy's defense?

Something we haven’t seen in 22 years means something.

Jokic put up a stat line that has never been done before, not one time in 75 years, so no 22 years means nothing.

And the MVP isn’t the MVStat award either but here we are.
