Toronto crowd was hyped in 2016. Really helped that the dunks were fantastic but the crowd is an essential element for the success of the event. Having animated judges like Dikembe and Shaq always helps too.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Giannis would do.

Love this! One of my favorite moments in the dunk contest in a long time. Jr wasn't quite as smooth as his dad, but it was still great.

I could watch Nance Sr's like 20 times in a row. That little extra elevation on the finish. I love rock the cradle dunks in general. Always felt they were underrated.

The camera angle for today's game is low and it makes things look more heroic, but it doesn't show you how high guys are when they are up there. Nance Sr. looks more graceful because you see that elevation.

Last night just proved how good Vince Carter's performance was and this was 18 years ago! Both Nance and Mitchell's Carter dunks paled in comparison.

Nba dunkers are alright but they should bring professional dunkers intead. They should also cut all that bull shiat costumes and setups to influence the judges.

The all star game should be played with greater incentives, like every player and coach should have a significant bonus clause in his contract to make the all star game and another one to win the all star game...

Best event so far has been always been the 3pt contest

Not a big fan of he dunk contest this year. Highlights were copies of dunks that were done better by Nance Sr. And Vince Carter. The double tap was cool and all but we had some serious contests the past few years that had multiple Guys making incredible dunks.
3 point contest Booker wow! He just shot the highest scoring round ever. The rules change contributed and Hodges in 91 is probably still the owner of the best contest but awesome showing for booker.

Not sure why they don't just refer to the record as made shots instead of points.

Dunk contest is a joke. If you miss on ur first attempt. I dont care how nice it is thats a max 9. U cant just go trying to do the same dunk 3 times and ended up with a score of 50. Execution is just as important as the quality of the dunk

Meh...pretty generic honestly.

Come on man, and you were the one drooling over Cari freaking Champion in the other thread right? Demita > Champion and it ain’t even close.

Because since like 2009 or so, participating in the dunk contest has been something that’s too low or “beneath” the stature of NBA superstars.

If Westbrook wasn’t a Star player then yeah he would definitely have done it multiple times by now.

It’s a new generation thing that they feel it’s too much beneath themselves to participate in it, not like the old Vince Carter/Kobe days.

Is there thread for a tonight spectacle team LeBron VS team Curry game?

I cant find any discussion about it and I am having troubles wit search engine of this forum.
Last year one of the NBA's leading commissioners said that this year All Star game will be quite new and differently conceptualized. I think he did not think only on structure as it's a big change that long tradition of West vs East is abolished but also that no one wants to watch a game with zero defensive efforts. And it's like everyone went easy over such a big change maybe because NBA already stated that NBA fans will have to get use to more and more changes in NBA. This change is pure result of attempt of balancing things and bringing the game in rather competitive and less circus show outlook. That is what I expect , real NBA game and big show best VS the best where who is who we will see after.
