Maybe if they play Rudy, but I think AD and Bam are just better covers for Wemby. In an nba game, embiid could make Wemby work on defense, but that would be silly here to run an offense through Embiid when we have all these other talented stars. I wouldn’t be shocked if we didn’t see him embiid this next half. He helped us last game, but might not be a good fit here.

I don’t buy that. He can’t be that unplayable. Are you telling he can't play anyone other than Rudy from France. I mean that’s sad. If that’s the case I don’t want to hear Embiid is anywhere near the top 5 players in the world. If can’t play against freaking France.

I'll be a little surprised if we see him or Embiid the rest of the way. No need to spread minutes out now. Just 20 minutes left. Stick with your best guys.

If the US goes on a run to start the third, they'll get some minutes. If it stays close then yeah, they probably won't play and they probably shouldn't.

His jumper is TRAAAAASH right now.

I don’t remember him being such a bad shooter, but he looks like he has zero confidence in his shot.

Very few players can shoot well under threat of being yanked. Threat of the yank will bring down basketball giants.

Uh, no, this is not how basketball is supposed to be played. These French players are body checking the US players left and right, and setting illegal blocks all over the floor and getting away with it.
If this game was called fairly, it would be a 20 point US lead right now.

If you started following the NBA in the 2010s that may explain why you think that way, but that's proper physical basketball, not the BS tiggling calls you see in the NBA.

The rotation in the 2nd half should be LeBron, Curry, Durant, Booker, AD, Bam, Jrue and potentially Ant for a small stint. That gives all of them 4 minutes rest for 20 minutes remaining game time. Time to win this thing.

Tatum was -8 in 3min. As long as we don’t play him again this is a W. He needs to just go on vacation and forget about this tournament.

I bet on the USA but I wouldn’t mind if France won either. It’s an easy team to root for and yabu is on a different level

Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid and French forward Guerschon Yabusele have officially agreed to a three-year contract extension until 2025, the Spanish team announced in a press release.

Could have NBA clause

Just looked it up The NBA should look into letting teams pay that for for their players without it counting towards the cap. Would be good for the NBA product.

Still just 6 free throws versus the 42 they got against Canada.

If Embiid is going to have minutes in the second half, he has to stop settling for those midrange jumpers, that's just too soft at this level and how France is playing, you have to attack them.

idk what you are talking about, 42 FTs in a 40 min game is totally normal.

I prefer basketball with the body checks to be honest. Also there’s nothing stopping the US from matching the physicality, Germany was super physical on the perimeter in all their games against France. It’s the way you need to play under this ruleset.

Physical is one thing. Cheap body shots, and trying to get the US players into fights, is another. Really, really ugly basketball and it's being rewarded by these pathetic refs.

What is a cheap “body” shot? You mean playing with physicality and putting your chest into the guy you’re defending?

Like I said this is just how basketball is played in pick up in gyms across America. There’s going to be some contact. The US needs to play with more composure and not take it so personally.

What do you mean? I’m saying that in this specific context, AD and Bam, two amazing defenders who are constantly competing for defensive player of the year, are possibly better fits in this specific match up against Wemby, a unique player in his own right. I don’t know why that is particularly controversial and I wouldn’t extrapolate much from it besides what it is.

He's Paul George reincarnated and his shot feels "weird" right now. Tatum is perplexing because he looks the part and we need another face of the league type, but people won't just acknowledge what he is.

Most likely Guerschon Yabusele is numbered amongst the majority of basketball players that perform better when they are starters entrusted with freedom instead of reserves confined to a role.
